I love poker, but I find that in the summer heat I really do not want to play in long (big) MTT's. and I primarily play MTT's. I lose patience, lose interest - as it is increasingly uncomfortable to sit in the same place for hours.
I'm turning to sng's but I enjoy them far less.
Is it just me?

He must've put you on J2o ??

I can't get myself to play online MTT's in this weather either & am losing interest to play. Pretty much the only time I'm playing is to use up Tokens that are expiring.

Hopefully you'll get on Mr. J3's table again soon. What is someone like that thinking there in that spot? It boggles the mind.

Me too. When the summer is I did not for the game. Winter is my time of the year. Early in the dark, wrapped in a warm blanket and the game can begin. It can be seen now on my game. :(

I normally play MTT in any weather, and do not lose concentration in the game play as always.

Absolutely the weather influences my game. Not my personal game though. when the weather is nice on Fridays the numbers are down at the local pokerroom. Always praying for horrible golf weather for Fridays in the summer!

Yea I feel like I missing the nice weather, if I am always in long tourneys playing online.... So after each game I say ok I am going out back for awhile but sometimes I don't get there because the game lasts too long then I have other things I have to get done. I tried a few times to take the laptop outside on the back deck with me but its soooo sunny I cant really see the screen and back in I go. hahahaha

weather is going to have an effect on anyone playing poker. It causes seasonal depression and things like rain can lead to drowsiness. Most poker is played indoors of course but still this can have a small effect on the game at hand. If its a hot day maybe some people are drained from being out in the sun too long, if its a cold day perhaps they are still ridged from the cold and its going to take them awhile to loosen up at the table. It is always a good idea to get to your tournament setting early and stay there for an hour or 2 before the tournament starts to get acclamated to your surroundings. Are there alot of windows? are there a lot of tvs? distractions? in the middle of the slot machines, or in a room downstairs away from everyone else in the casino? It all can be a small effect on the game you are playing, so i strongly suggest to just get there an hour or 2 early to get yourself used to the setting you are going to play in, this should help to get out of the weather that is outside as well. good luck playing at the tables thats the best advice i can give.

Funny and interesting question :p I guess we know that (too much) heat, will make you lose concentration, so that can be a factor.
Personally I don't get affected too much by the weather.

Usually weather doesnt affect my gameplay. But big summer heat cripples me, so then I play rarely. Maybe I should buy an air-conditioner. :)
I agree with a comment: best weather is a cold winter night for MTT :D

Sure it does. Outside factors influence our games.

For MTT, it really needs much time. Any element that affects our patience influences our game likewise.

I definitely expand my range in the summer because I would much rather be out in the warm sun than in a cool house. :)

lol, kind of what I was thinking. Maybe if you have poor insulation and your house gets really hot then I can see a problem here because that could definitely mess up your play.

I live in Ga and its been hotter than all get out but fortunately I have air condition so I do not feel the heat. It does not affect my game and im playing the same regardless of what the weather is outside. I do not let other things affect my game that I have no control over.

Not so much the weather, it's about preperation. If it's warm outside then make sure you have plenty of fluid on hand as well as air conditioning. If it's cold then drink some warm drinks and have a few extra layers of clothing nearby.

Anytime for me just have to make sure you have the time to play, try not to sit out because every hand counts and your comfortable I guess. but really it shouldn't matter and if the weather effects your gameplay then IM SORRY because that just sucks lol

I actually do believe the weather has an impact on my game and I also feel like the time of year may have an impact as well. For instance, in the summer when the weather is usually nice, I want to be outside rather than sitting behind a computer screen which in turn can have an impact on my play. On the other hand, in the winter when the nights are shorter and the weather is not as nice, I enjoy playing more as I don't feel the need to be outside.

I agree, on a rainy day I find it much easier to concentrate on my game, but if the sun is shining and the weather's hot, it's hard to sit in front of the computer for 3-4 straight hours.

Playing poker, I sometimes depend on the weather. In hot weather, I can still play as the house has air conditioning. But in cloudy and rainy weather for me hard to play.I probably meteodependent person as I often have a headache because of the bad weather, and accordingly I can not play good poker :(
