Ok, your playing online, you got a read as to what someone has for a hand, now will you use that bit of info in the chat box, to try to mess them up??
Say you got trips, your betting the pot, to get him to drop his draw, he nails the card to make his str8 on the river, you know it was a donkey call on his part. Would you use that info to try and tilt him.???

Why would you? If you got that good a read and it's accurate then just take his chips that will tilt him enough.:):)

It is usually more trouble than it is worth to try to tilt someone that way. At least it is in my experience.

Definitely not. If you have a read and call them out on it then they may change their play and your read is gone. I might say something like "nice catch" but that's about it if I say anything at all.

I personally never use the chat box. To me it's nothing but a distraction and petty arguments or banter really doesn't help my play.

God Kid!!

It's: "their"!!!!

The possessive version of the word They is THEIR!!!

I am not a spelling or grammar nazi... but you have the worst of both on this whole damn board.

It's wrong in the title of the thread. It's wrong in your signature, and you also managed to use the possessive version of "you" (your) instead of the contraction You're for "you are".

To answer your question: Keeping your mouth shut = not giving out information. Less information given out = better strategy usually.

The only good reason to write in the chatbox is to be nice and friendly to the fishes so that they have a good time while they give you their money.

I don't use the chat box much these days, except to say "nh" or "gg,"
etc. I usually mute the players who rant because it's useless IMO and, as someone else said, a distraction. I could care less what they have to say about my play and figure they feel the same way, too. Besides, assuming they do read the chat, why would I want to give them information? Especially if my read is good.

You should never discuss the game or how anyone plays in chat. I don't talk at all unless it is to respond to a hi or nh - something along those lines.

(and I edited your thread title for you)

Haha. Kid, next time we play, you can go ahead and tell me about any tells I have, I would appreciate it all ;).

In my own thought though, just like everyone else, I would never mention anything to someone with obvious tells because I would want to use it to my advantage to extract the most from them. I have a couple friends in my home game like this actually, it's pretty funny because they have no clue. Come play with me kid ;)

Sometimes I'm telling them my reads, but not often. I like to be more concentrated on the game, not on the psychological things

I wouldn't tell even a pal a read I got or think I got. I might tell a really good real-life friend, later, in private, because I don't want him or her to go broke.

Online tells are pretty limited, anyway. Consider a tell like this: bets small with the nuts, bets potsize when semi-bluffing, bets all-on only with nothing but overcards. No way would I tell someone I am playing that he is doing this over and over. And certainly not in the chat box where everyone else can see it.
