comparing poker chat info sites

so, anyone care to share with me the benefits of one card chat info room over another. I am trying to determine where to spend my time and I tend to like the look and feel of this site. curious about how easy it is to navigate, get info, clarity, etc. who is a fan? thanks

I'M SORRY, THATS WORST THAN MY LUCK, BUT I FEEL IF YOUR AGGRESSIVE IN online poker YOU WILL HAVE AN ADVANTAGE. I'M JUST NOT THAT AGGRESSIVE.

It's really a personal decision, I like it here because it's mature without being too stuffy. No youngsters being mean in flames and no oldsters being mean and making you feel inferior. Still a lot of fun stuff, good info, discussion and sharing of strategy.

Stick around, get the feel of things, contribute or not at your own pace, no pressures here. :D

Wow, this thread has gone all over the place

Back to the original topic - your percentage to win will vary depending on the cards your opponents are holding but pre-flop, against one opponent, you can expect to be around 80% or more to win.

(I'm doing this from memory, someone with PokerStove may be able to provide more specific stats against a range of hands)

Sounds like you got very unlucky... but then you got even more lucky if you got dealt AA three times within half an hour in a live game. So maybe the laws of probability just took a day off for you

AA facing KK is about an 80% favourite, so having something like a KJ, it would be about 10-15% to crack the Aces.

Well if you take the conservative approach that AA is about 80% vs ATC (81% vs pps, slightly less % vs suited connectors, higher% vs unconnected undercards etc), then you have about a 0.8% chance of losing 3 hands in a row with AA vs one opponent. But that % isn't valid if you actually won a hand with AA somewhere in between.

Remember, that each event (hand) is mutually exclusive and has no bearing on the outcome of the other. So just because AA is 80% to win you won't automatically lose exactly 1 out of every 5 (although over the long run you will on average). You may have streaks where you lose 5 followed by winning 30 but none of those streaks will have any bearing on the outcome of the hand the next time you have AA.

Can you say 'variance' ... ??

8,000 of 10,000 AA hands 'should be' winners. All your BR has to do is survive the first 1,000 'variant' losses ... :D
