I also hate sitting out for any reason. I try not to let it bother me though, but write off to just not playing at that moment like any other time away from the table, but I do hurry back from whatever reason pulled me away.
I do notice that some players have no issues with being dealt out while they are away from the table. I just try and not let it bother me.
Good luck.

I do hate sitting out but I don't care what my cards were if it happened. I just keep playing.

Yeah I have PokerTracker 4 so my database tells me what cards I fold preflop. It sucks when I sitout and see I had folded KK, AA, AK etc. but you can't change past results.

What really sucks is live poker. I was playing a cash game last weekend, the dealer tossed my card face up and it was an Ace. This is the 2nd time in a ROW they had misdealed an ace to me! Really crappy part was my other card was a king. Of course when the flop is dealt there's an ace on the flop. I ended up with K2o instead of AK. So annoying, but obviously it wasn't intentional. Just sucks because I was so card dead that session.

That session I had pocket jacks where someone else had flopped the nut flush. Another hand that session I had AQs where the other guy shoved over my flop bet and hit his flush on the river. Variance is a ........

/end rant

So yeah morale of this story is: you can't focus on past results :D

Sometimes it is necessary to be absent during the tournament. What can you do - that's life

I also hate to sit out and I'm a smoker, whenever I go out on the balcony for a smoke I watch the cards from the window, leave the cigarette down and come back to fold/play hand.

I once had to eat during and important tournament, I had to sit out.
I came back after lunch and I checked previous hands (under 10 hands dealt)
I had AA, KK and AK suited.

I try hard to cling on every chance I get to raise my chip stack and sitting out just minimizes my chances.

I do the same, but when you see that your folded cards would have made a winning hand, it's a mistake to let that influence you to start guessing and play some like that. What happens to me if I do try playing them, I will make a small pair on the flop, which gives me a reason to see the turn, and the river if I have a possible to hit a str8 or flush. But it hardly ever happens. So the bottom line is to not play them at all, because those calls just cost you and it adds up real quick. GL to you

Can't see the point of sitting out unless its a nature call. blinds are taken. stake is being diminished. good hands with potential earners can be missed if you think it may be tactical well that's up to the individual not my style
