With whomever you live, alone, with friends, familly.. mom dad brother sister..

Does they know that you are playing poker? Do you hide those things from them, knowing that this is not moral thing to do in my religion and society.

Do you get supportive if they know, or do they attack you for doing that..
What situations do you have, i suppose that there are so many situations about this, even that someones father give money to his son to play poker for him, or asking him to teach him poker

Its not situation in my house, i hide because i know its not normal to gamble at all, especially in poor country like mine.

If you lose money in poker is a problem. But if poker is an additional source of income, why not?

Everyone knows; I've never had anyone judge me on it, maybe they do behind my back but who cares they can have an opinion if they'd like. My SO supports me 110% as well. I don't quite care if anyone judges me for playing poker, it's one part of who I am now and a passion of mine but I am grateful my SO has always supported my poker passion and really anything in life.

That depends on how much you can earn playing poker. Maybe you can have something like 5000$ a month, of course, if this is so, no one will tell you that this is wrong. We were broke up for a while, then she wanted to get back together. I made it very clear that I would be playing a lot of poker at the casino, and at the time she had no problems with it what so ever.

But now whenever I am at the casino I get nagging texts non stop about stupid ass shit that doesn't matter at all, and when I get back we get into huge fights about me playing poker, and then the fights branch off on to other topics that have absolutely no relevance.

The messed up thing is I do very well live, haven't had a losing live session in a year, I pay 99.9% of the bills, all threw poker.

I can't take it anymore so she has to go

My family absolutely hates that I play poker...they played it (without bankroll) and say it is just pure gambling.

At the beginning I ve got problems in the family,but now they feel secure according to money problem because I play up to 4-5$.

My parents don't know, figured I'd tell them when hit my first million

On the other hand, my friends and my brother do know, and they are OK with it, they are neither encouraging me nor telling me to stop playing (mainly cause I spend some of the winnings on them )

Wow - A year long winning streak in poker?!?! You must be one amazing poker player. And paying all the bills by playing poker? That is beyond my wildest dreams.


Now, about your girlfriend... Does she not understand that poker is like your job and is paying for everything? Is she morally opposed to poker?


You have a decision to make - girlfriend or poker? Good luck with that.

My close friends are aware how much I play poker. I don't think they understand just how into it I am, but that is fine for now. I don't really want them to know unless I have some winnings to show for it. Even if your playing within your limits and schedule, some people aren't going to respect anything but the paper.

I tried talking about / telling people about poker:

e.g. at the gym: 'What did you do all day?' Me: 'Played poker'

Doesn't go over well with some people, but for some poker and gambling in general is frowned upon regardless.

I'm going to keep my poker playing as tight as I can to keep people from poker-shaming me. It would be really nice if I could get some of my closer family and friends involved, but its hard keeping them off their damn cell phones!!

support in the family is the most important thing for raising skill but it requires you to be responsible and not to embark on stupid adventures

It mainly depends on two things, the "reason" you play poker for, and "amount" of time and money that you can afford to use in play. In my case I play poker for fun, and time pass. I love the adrenaline involved whereas some people play poker as source of earning. They don't know but they are indirectly trying to make it as their source of income which is highly dangerous and unacceptable.
