A. Because it's actually REAL poker, not a math/computer game
B. Solid play is better rewarded live in shorter periods of time/hands vs. hundreds of thousands of hands (on average) to get rewarded with solid play online.
C. More meta game/psychology involved live vs more math online.
D. Everyone is on the same playing field live, real shuffle, etc - no huds, poker genius, etc.

For the most part true but it also depends on a number of things like stakes, location, time of day/week, table, etc. Personally, I play to make money so my goal is to find the softest table possible,

definitly live, for all the reasons above and also i love the intensity of live play. its harder for someone to push all on you when they are right in front of you cause they have to hold their shit together and cant be yelling at the screen "fold, please fold, if u call im busted!". and cause live players are softer(on average) then on-line.

For me, it depends on various factors that can vary depending on the circumstances. Since I play mainly small buyin MTTs ($5 and less), there isn't much live play available to compare against.
My one big live exposure was a $7000 tournament I satellited into. I haven't made it into anything nearly that high online, but it's hard to imagine I'd prefer a big buyin online tournament since the live event comes with a far more extensive overall experience.

i definitely prefer live, even though im weaker live than online. It seems more like a real game to me. i play online more, but the psychology and tells aspect is just so appealing to me. Taking down a big pot live is just so much more satisfying.

well i prefer live as i can actually see who is on the table. i just got back from 3 days in vegas and took down a $50 bounty tourney and won some good money playing 2/4 limit. i played a bit of no limit and made good money but the wait for a table was way to long. online is what i do just to play when i cant get a live game. online players for some reason are real loose but also always hit against me. i could be winning a hand with the second nuts and always lose to the 1st. its the story of my life. live cash and tourney games are way better. u never see the snap calls and all ins u do when playing online. dont get me wrong online is very lucrative and it is in the comfort of your home but nothing beats the adrenaline rush knowing u took someone down and they start talking trash to u face to face. lol

I was playing at a small private game, tournament format, just a $10 buy in and I was shortstacked so I made a somewhat loose call on the flop that put me all in. The better was the big blind who had only min raised preflop. I had a strong flush draw and a straight draw but I knew I was behind. I'll even admit my preflop call with KQ suited and with less than optimum position was not a great play. The guy who went all in had pocket aces and the board gave him a set. He was a little ticked when I hit my flush on the river. Didn't knock him out but crippled him and he quickly went on tilt. He spent the rest of his very short tourney whining and crying about the bad beat. I ignored it for a while and then, when I got tired of it, told him to stop crying and learn to take a beat without going on tilt. He then starts yelling and screaming and threatening me until the host made him leave.
When the game was over (I finished 2nd) and I went out to get my bike for a long ride home this idiot was outside waiting for me. Yelling and screaming that he was gonna kick my "fat, old man ass". I didn't want to fight, it was 5 in the morning, I was tired, he was drunk and I was perfectly willing to let it go. But he wasn't.
Long story short, he quickly found out that youth is not enough to negate 6 inches, a hundred pounds and twenty more years of experience. I actually feel kind of bad about it. And I hurt my shoulder...I took a header off my bike a few years ago and injured it, and of course, not having been in a fight since then, threw several punches with that arm. Hurt like hell.
So yeah, I prefer online poker. When someone cries and whines I can mute them. Nobody ever tracks me down after a bad beat online looking to kick my ass. And I never have to ice my shoulder the next day.

I am forced to play online. We do not have casinos close by ... would be expensive to go live. Also, I like the "mute" capability of turning off nonsense and rudeness ... which is difficult to deal with live I should think. Far too many folks don't know how to behave politely at the table ... a lost art.

Live Vs Online
IMO it's like comparing limit to NL two completely different games. I personally
love both.Online for the convienence. But you can't beat Live games for a
complete Poker experience. The sights the sounds and oh yes, even the smells(
you know that dude who wouldn't know a Bar a soap if he tripped over it) The
social aspect can be the best and worst part of Live play IMO depending on the
mix of players. I guess coz I play more Online than Live I see live as treat when
I do play. So I will say LIVE!
