Do you play live poker with accessories: sunglasses, caps, hooded sweatshirt?

you use these devices often to hide their facial reactions. The question is, YOU can conceal their facial expressions without using accessories?

I do not know what the advantage is or not... I very rarely wear any accessories and I have the same luck or run good either way. I have won tournaments as well as be one of the first few out. SOmetimes I think it is more of a distration to try to not make you focus, but in the long run it is the cards that do the talking...

I usually play live at home with my friends,so I do not need additional accessories because we play for fun=)Some of the guys wear glasses, hats, etc., but I think that this is unnecessary in a home game.

I may have a hoodie, just cause it gets cold. Can't see the cards with sunglasses, and hate wearing a hat indoors.

Just a ball cap...no need to wear sunglasses unless prescribed by a doctor.

If you can play without accessories. I once read that had to stand in front of a mirror and practice do not make gestures to watch or play cards and videotaped to analyze according to the received hand. to see if there is any gesture when you have good hands.

Sometimes it is very useful disguise. Especially against stronger players. I believe that in most cases it is just an image.

I don't use any accessories. To my mind this is no advantage for the play, it's just for the style.

If you are wearing shades+hoodie draped over the head while in your local 2-4 limit game..... you might be doing it wrong lol.
But honestly I have a ton of "poker gear" covered in different sites names on hats and hoodies and I never wear them to live games vs people I don't know.
I do wear hoodies but plain ones and mostly because its cold in a lot of casinos. Would never knock anyone who felt they needed to wear shades in a tough game but in general I think players could over all pull back from this to help the game feel more open to rec players in certain games.

Never have worn anything to hide my eyes. The only "accessories" for me are either a bright shirt and on rare occasions even a shirt and tie. :p

Haven't played too many live games, but never saw the need for all that crap. Like nygmen said, I think its just a distraction. This gif sums up this thread pretty well imo

When i play at home,i like using gloves cuz my hands are sweating too much, especially in the summer...
And when i play live,im feeling very comfortable with a hoodie and the hood on my head,it kinda narrow my rear view,so i can be concentrated on the game. :)

LOL I was just about to say I go to a casino naked. Then I saw your gif.

A good chunk of the pros don't wear sunglasses in game. I unfortunately haven't had the chance to play at a casino yet, but I have played a casual home game.

Funny enough my first hand I flopped a set. I fired like 3 barrels and I could of swore the woman had a straight the way she snap called each street, but at showdown she turned over AJ or something (can't remember).

I had no poker gear, but the other players said I was "too serious" because I didn't limp garbage hands. Some dude literally said "Don't you want to see a flop?" When I raised hands, they got mad LOL. I saw all the obvious poker tells. They didn't even bother to hide them. They either had a good hand or garbage. I went to the home game with my friend and I couldn't get a read on him though. He always looks the same whether he is bluffing or has a strong hand.

I rarely play live poker, mostly with my friends, so, if I use any accessories, it's only for joke.

and card protectors...it is a must.:D

BTW: think sunglasses is not that necessary. it will hide your emotion tell, but same way it will make you mis read the card like missing a flush and fold to a bet:D

without accessories... make an indifferent face and try not to change facial expressions during the game.

I've been working on my Durrr space-out stare a LOT, and I get a lot of feedback that people think I'm a crazy person. Managing your body language is a solid life-skill as well. I'll skip the accessories until I know I have to use them for a tell I can't beat.

I just found out that when I get a big hand, I look around much more, so I may start wearing sunglasses. haha. I wear a hat sometimes if it's a regular game and a hoodie if I'm in a casino, because I usually end up freezing.

Ok, let's talk a little about poker accessories. Some people wear poker gear to look intimidating so people don't play back into them when they are a new face or maybe cause they just want to dress in fashion. I will wear Oakley shades because they adjust to the lighting in the room and are high definition. Now the true strategic meaning behind shades are to watch people without them knowing your watching, cause if they knew you were studying them they may act differently than how they usually would aware your trying to ready them or perhaps paying attention. I wear a hat and fold my hands in front of my mouth to shield myself from keen eyes that soul read razor sharp. Hope this clears things up always have a purpose for what you're trying to accomplish.
