For those of us that are retired, playing poker beats cleaning out the garage or watching grass grow.

Plenty of people play online poker at all hours of the day from all countries throughout the world. It's the same at a live cardroom where you see people coming in for 45 minutes at lunch, or after their swing shifts, regular shifts, etc. Always people playing poker! lol

I saw on the internet that pokerstars site has the highest level of "stickiness" of all poker sites. That is a measure of how long a user stays on a site. Pokerstars is 10.5 hours! I guess people can spend their time as the like.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Neilsens ratings:
A website's "stickiness" is a measure of how much time each user spends on it. The latest Nielsen Online data logs the average Google user as spending 1 hour and 50 minutes on Google sites. Microsoft sites come in at 2 hours and 12 minutes. Yahoo, with its very broad selection of topics -- and perennial favorite Yahoo! Games -- holds users for more than 3 hours.

But what category of website holds users' attention for much, much longer? In one case, more than 10.5 hours per user per month -- on average?

Online poker! Although their unique audience is significantly smaller than the big boys, PokerStars.com, FullTiltPoker and PartyPoker all average more than 4.5 hours of play per user per month -- with PokerStars.com logging an astounding 10 hours and 37 minutes.

Jobs?????

Wow, kid! You got SO,SO very much to learn, doncha??Sheeat!! When I was yer age, oh, 'bout 45 years ago, I also believed a person should be at work in the afternoons too! Sooooo, that's just what I did, FOR 45 YEARS!!!!! Now, today after EARNING it, I can actually pursue mt pation--EVEN IF I'M NOT SO GREAT AT IT, I CAN play poker when ever I want to, just like everyone else who plays in the afternoons, or nights, or early mornings, ON THE INTER-NET! An' it sounds to me like you would'nt remember a time when there was no inter-net! But me being as old as dirt, DO remember when we had to go to actual brick an' mortor casinos or a buddys garage in order to pursue that which we can today in our own easy chairs!:icon_fara Just look at all you have to look forward to in only another 45-50 years!:p An' DON'T THINK FER A SECOND THAT THAT IS A LONG TIME!! It'll pass before you can say 'RUMPELSTILSKIN- gl, kid!:D

I play the pokerz like 6-8 hours a day. Some of those people probably play from work, maybe, others just dont work and play during the afternoon I suppose.

10.5 hours wow that is sick. I play that long too lol --sometimes. Just not on pokerstars. Some days I will do the daily50grand freeroll and the other game that starts within 5 minutes of that. I can't stand pokerstars because it's so hard to get some free money with their lame satellite top 99 out of 12000 tourneys then the weekend final.

.

So you are a pro poker plyr??? How do you support yourself ?? I'm only 22 but I know the experience of having a job, a responsibility is invaluble to your development no matter who you are.... You will truly have no idea about the true value of a hard earned dollar and knowing you are contributing to society somehow ... I don't know about anyone else here but I wouldn't trade the experience of that first job which seems crappy at the time for anything .

I worked for 36 years, got a variety of ailments, so now, SSA pays me a pittance wage to sit and play poker, giving woolgatherers like y'all something to blather about.

Well, Canada, for instance, has to have several thousand citizens. You take out a couple dozen to run the Zamboni machines & that leaves quite a few to play poker. Also I have heard that all the taverns up there are self serve.

In that case I guess you'll be last in the Q if your taking the summer off, how do you know there are quote " thousands of ppl from the US and Canada playing poker". What business is it of yours to ask the Q in the 1st place? and what does what I think have anything to do with it?. If you just graduated high school, your too young to be playing online anyway. Stick to school and finish your education. If your not sure what to do, become a crane operator, the offsore oilfields are screaming for them, min wage is around 110k.
