Hobby. Some months it makes me money, some months it doesn't. Just thinking of doing it for a living makes me toss my cookies.

seems like these days you need to be able to play over 10 tables at a time to make a living. Just thinking of doing that every day makes me sick.

I can't play for a living, but I have paid for 4 cruises with poker winnings from a home game.

Then you work again and don't play anymore...

Heck, I don't even make enough to make a withdrawal anymore. ;)

I think I managed to somehow get worse, I was up a lot and now I'm barely break-even!

Most definitely a hobby. It's too frustrating to do it as a career. Even though lately I've been doing about $15 an hour at rush...

Poker is a game of patience and choices. I am working on both constantly. I love this game so much, but because of recent life changes am not going to put another dime on the sites. If I get some money through a freeroll I am going to play it as well as I can. Hopefully, one day I will be able to make money. I know I am good enough, but I'm not sure if I'm patient enough yet. God is showing me how to be patient. I wouldn't do it for a living, but for charities I will if I can.

I did build up from thirty something to 500 in a week and a half one time, but got greedy with a $50 HU loss and then a $100 HU loss. After that I just had a complete meltdown. I have advice for anyone who is trying to build. STAY in your limits, unless you wake up ready to play patient. Then once you feel somewhat bored stop. You have to always stay fresh to make money daily.

Total hobby for me. I just love to play. I have no real aspirations to make a living out of playing poker. Too inconsistant to plan your life around.

I have done the same thing. It seems like i have a 1200 dollar cap on my account. Once i get 1200 dollars it wont let me get any higher no matter my style of play. Its weird. So no i cant live off 1200 dollars. LOL

I make enough that I don't have to deposit again (online). I never make enough to play at buyin level I'd like to be playing at (and expectations aren't that high really).

I earned $8k tonite in 1 1/2 hrs. To do that in poker, I would have to play at a stake level that would soil my pants. I'll stick to working 100 hrs a year and play poker for fun ( even though it has paid for my last 2 trips to Vegas and the next one in Sept ),,,,tyvm, all from a single $50 deposit.

I follow the game of a player named moronforce. This player plays every day about 9 hours a day. I guess that's his job. His bankroll didn't grow but because he plays a lot he is getting a lot of rackback. In the past two and half years he get a 115,000$. It's a 3800$ in a month.

It's a hobby that supplements my retirement. I have quite a few of those and without them probably wouldn't be able to stay retired.
