Europeans like me have the fortune to be allowed to play on every pokersite that is online.
I was checking out Titan Poker when I noticed that some tables had the "disconnection Protection" feature. So if a player disconnected during a hand, he would be declared all-in, and the hand would be played out as if he were all-in as in any normal poker situation.
Sure there are scenarios in which you’d like to be all-in when you’re not.
For instance, if you have a flush draw with two cards to come, rather than pay one or more bets on the flop and turn, you’d like to sit back and see if your draw comes in.
Although I have never experienced such situation I am wondering is it possible to unfairly exploit this feature?

So if I disconnect with 3 8 offsuit, it pushes for me?? Doesn't sound like something I'd even remotely consider.

No, this is a pretty common feature on a bunch of sites. Basically, it is designed to prevent people from losing money on big hands if they disconnect and would normally be folded. So instead of simply folding your hand, the computer acts as if the rest of your stack were still in your pocket - you play a side pot as if what you had already put in were your entire stack.

It's exploitable, but poker sites detect when people try to take advantage of it and they put a stop to it.

It used to bee more common in the past and yes it was exploited.

Hence its more common now to give players longer periods to reconnect than to allow them to go all in for free
