The biggest difficulties I've been having recently is having to adjust to the odds. What I mean is, often times in poker you will have sessions where the hands you would have won pots with are all trash hands, but you didnt play that trash so you didn't win that hand. Then when you have a strong hand like pocket jacks or higher and end up losing a big pot. The worst is getting all of your money in when you are ahead and get sucked out by a kicker I just lost a tournement to KQ when I had AK. I got about 15,000 I rasie from MP to 1,300
at 300/600. the small blind raises to 4,500. Hes about 35,000 deep. I call.
flop come K 6 3. He shoves. I call. Queen comes on river. I know bad beats are just part of the game but they seem to come at a much higher frequency lately and at critical times

Yes it can be quite discouraging getting sucked out on when you truly believed you had that won.
But, this is the nature of the BEAST…… lol

I do not believe there is a single poker player in the world that has not experienced your situation.

Note: Read the following and you just may feel just a tee-bit more at peace with what has happened to you. :)

I have been going through an extremely long span when in an All-In situation having the best hands before the rivers and getting busted and being eliminated from the tournaments. ……. I recently this month, started documenting these situations in a spread-sheet and plan to post them on a monthly basis here on CC, when and if I manage to get at least 15 examples in a given month.

Oh.... by the way, that extremely long span was around 4 years. ....... But only when in an [All-in situation with the best hand pre river]

its easy to learn playing poker, but hard to master it.

Well, I also had sessions like this, in which I have very bad hands, with which I do not pay, and in flop I connect trios, or full house, and then I pay with AK, AQ, JJ, QQ and I lose my hands, Sometimes it gives me some frustration but what is done, is a game of chance is lost or won, and luck sometimes does not accompany us.

Yeah, bad stretches can be a bummer but we all go through them. I used to play in a league where one of the more colorful characters used to plea with the programmers to 'please remove the asterisk from my name' when he was suffering bad beats. I always chuckled to myself when he would post this in the chat.

I spent 6 hours last night in the JackpotFreeroll tournament, got to final table, 5 players left, pretty much tied with 2 other players as top stacks, 2 players BADLY dominated in chip stacks......

AND......one of the guys in the top 3 got there by pushing, pushing, pushing rags until he got his stack up buying blinds and knocking out one of the other tiny stacked players that had limped to final table....

...we get to 5 players.....BB comes to me...I'm holding 6 3 offsuit...that dude raises my BB x3
and I didn't give a second thought....I shoved, I didn't care what he had, if he called, or what I was holding.....I was just bored, and ready to either win it all and not be bullied in the process, or go to bed. lol

Lost.

But hey.......I didn't care.

Besides.....his K9 wasn't that strong. lol

anywhooo.......
got to learn that tomorrows another day...sht happens...and in the end...
unless you're playing with the high rollers.....and you're not playing with scared money, or the months light bill........you'll live to play and learn to take the blows AND...give them.

Besides....
my 6 3 off could've hit. lol

nevvvvverrrrr know.

good luck on the tables...
don't forget to breathe...
and keep your qualm.

They can have your chips....don't give'm your qualm!:rock::rock:

it is very difficult to drop such a hand as AK, but if you feel that the opponent will win ,you have to learn to drop such hands
