I didnt know where else to post this, so Im posting in the general.

Is it just me or does it seem like some poker sites just deal you crap time and time again?

I have this problem with FullTilt and with pokerstars.

Whats your "bad luck" poker site? What site do you prefer? And why?

Full Tilt, poker stars, and I just didnt like the look and feel of bodog. party poker Poker was where I started online, but took alot of bad beats.

Ub, and Doyles Room seem to be where I at least have a fighting chance.

Idk, any thoughts? Just looking to see If Im the only one or not.

UB seems to be my demon. No reason, just never have done worth a dang there. Know lots of CCr's that do just fine at UB.

well, you're not the only one. but at the same time you are wrong. the chances of taking a bad beat are the same at doyles room as they are at fulltilt, or any other site. you might sign up for fulltilt and have some bad luck and lose, but that doesn't mean you're going to get sucked out there more than somwhere else. poker is a game of swings, small and sometimes big.

Ive been handed many bad beats on Ub. My point more or less was that Full Tilt and Poker Stars dont ever seem to deal playable cards. And when they do, the community has other ideas lol.

I think that all of the sites are pretty much the same and if you can't win at one you probably won't win at another. In the long run every site will deal you as many good hands as any of the other ones will.

Only difference in sites is rake and traffic, tourney structure, etc...

For all the other stuff, the word variance comes to mind

yeah....you lose bacause the poker site deals YOU and only you crap cards...give me a break.if you play long enough you'll realize that some sessions you get bad cards, that's the way it goes.maybe your playing cards you shouldn't be playing in the first place.....oh yeah and you probably forget about those days when the deck slaps you in the face so go look for your "lucky seat" and play some poker........

Does anyone actually have stats or real evidence that one site or another is different as far as the number of bad beats?

Theoretically there should/could be subtle differences if the RNGs use different methods and depths of randomization, but the differences should be very small.

I don't think there's real difference in the sites but there seems to be a difference in the players at some sites.
full tilt poker and PS have both better players than some BUT a whole lot of newbie donkey chasers.

I've had a lot of swings from low to high and back to low on almost all of the sight's, as per sight, Ive never been able to do much of anything on fulltilt, but thats probably mostly due to the holes in my internet game.

Along with rake and traffic, tourney structure, etc... I would like to add "easiness of withdrawal". You will find out it is tougher to withdrawal from a smaller site than per say PS or FT.

I don't like FT

Well, I really do like FT as far as their software goes. Absolutely the best as far as ease of use, But it seems there are more bad beats there. The only site I can make money on is intertops. Though my intellect tells me it ain't so,, I seem to see less bad beats there.

Remember that the amount of bad beats is almost always correlated with the amount of too loose play on the site.

I usually get owned in pokerstars primarily because of their sng structure so i try to stick to full tilt.

Well, theoreticly (sp?), every site should be equal. And your chances of winning should all be the same no matter what. Taking into account skill, math, etc etc... If your good enough, then you should be able to win at any site.

But even some top pros are superstitious. TJ Cloutier once offered a dealer money NOT to deal in a tournament. And all because every time this dealer was dealing a table that TJ was playing at, TJ always seemed to lose. It doesnt really seem logical to think that a certain dealer would bring you more beats than any other dealer. But people tend to believe in superstition. And I honestly dont think its so wrong to favor a site for this reason.

It was just a question.

Here is an analysis of tournament structures that you might find interesting.

I seem to do quite well at Titan.
I've had a lot of swings from low to high and back to low on almost all of the sight's, as per sight, Ive never been able to do much of anything on fulltilt, but thats probably mostly due to the holes in my internet game.
The best sight that I've seen (and can mention on a family forum) is probably the Grand Canyon... :p

It probably seems like you're only getting garbage hands but you are getting all hands a variety of times. If you have some poker tracking software you should see that you are getting a wide range of hands equally as much.

You're personifying computers. All the sites have RNGs with (assuming they are not rigged) identical probability distributions. They don't "decide" to do anything.

Statistics says that until you play tens of thousands of hands on EVERY site, you are going to get more bad beats on some sites than others. That's just the way it works.

But, it's funny how if you remove personal theory and selective memory, and compare thousands of hands on numerous sites, the numbers all tend toward what they're supposed to be.
