Definition of the Nuts?

I've seen other threads of this in the past, and i generally know the definition but want to know if this is the definition of the nuts (this is the definition in my opinion).

"The hand that cannot be beaten by any other combinations of hands depending on what cards are remaining."

Examples:

1.
I have Js 7s against an opponent and the flop comes 8s 9s 10s.

I have a straight flush, and due to the fact that i am holding the Jack of Spades no hand can possibly beat mine, even though the best hand possible would be a queen high straight flush.

2.
I have A-K against an opponent on a board of As Ac Kd

Although i don't have quads there is only 1 ace and 2 kings left in the deck making it impossible for an opponent to have me beat.

Give me your opinions and what you think.

It depends on the context. Generally speaking, the "nuts" is the best hand possible given the current board. Meaning you can flop the nuts and still be beaten by the river.

The "absolute" or "stone" nuts is the best hand possible, period, regardless of what cards can come. Both of your examples would be considered the stone nuts, even the first because no opponents can beat you, the Qs would only improve your hand further.

It can also be used to describe the highest hand of a rank that is still beatable. For instance a nut straight can be beaten by a flush, the nut flush can still be beaten on a paired board by a full house, etc.

Note: In Hi/Lo when you have the best high and the best low then you have the nuts nuts... it's very pleasurable.

When i have the best possbile hand and know that nobody can beat me then i call my hand the NUTS..

I dont n´know if it's right but it feels good

In example #2 I don't think you have the ABSOLUTE nuts. If turn and river are 10s and Js then QKss would be the absolute nuts, the dude flopped the nuts but with a real crummy run out of cards he can lose

He's holding Js. He has the absolute nuts because no hand can beat him.

This is THE NUTS, meaning no matter what happens on the turn and/or river no one can beat you. It is the BEST possible hand. Notice we are not saying it is the best possible hand at the moment, at the flop, or whatever.

This is NOT THE NUTS (not yet anyway), meaning this hand could still be beat (opponent holds QQ then turn and river are also Q, Q - crushing a boat). Let's say the turn is 7c - you still do not hold the nuts as another 7 on the river and an opponent holding 77 will also crush you.

Give me your opinions and what you think.

Somewhere, somehow people started tiering the nuts for some reason (probably just so they could say they had it when they didn't). It has become more common to use "Nuts" to describe the best hand IN A GIVEN SITUATION. If that is the case, the nuts is no longer unbeatable. For that to happen you must now have the STONE COLD or ABSOLUTE NUTS.
Pretty silly. For me I just refer to those other hands as the best possible hand at that time - such as holding KK on a KhQh2c flop. I would never say that I have the nuts, though I am holding the best possible hand (if no other cards were to come). But the fact remains that my hand is pretty vulnerable to my opponent drawing a flush or straight on the very next card - turning "the nuts" into a losing hand. But wait, if the nuts are unbeatable....
See, it'll make your head hurt Second nuts, third nuts - just terms for great hands that lost.

one can hold say Ac-5c in a flop Kc-2c-7c, and one has the nuts, it is the nuts because one knows is ahead of any other hand at that moment, but it doesn´t mean that one always will win the hand,

for instance, let´s say, one holds Ac-Ah, flop comes As-2s-Td, again one holds the nuts, but if any villain holds a hand with suited spades then he can beat the nuts if any other spade shows in either turn or river

Good catch, missed that. Replace the As on the flop with Ah and my statement holds up, but in this case you're right, his nut boat could fall to a SF.

The Dead Nuts2

So as I reach for my bankroll, I feel a slight Miss, to no surprise, I "Robby 2 Tones" But, for the sake of the "STORY", You can just call me "Tonez" :icon_fara but back to the story. I had left my bankroll, back at the hotel, With that skeezr :bootyshak.... I soon Find my mind wrapped around the thought of walking away from the table, When suddenly It hit me like a wrecking ball.. "I lost my Best friend this way.":toilet: So I reached for my favorite drink.

And took a sip, and said, that all time famous line you hear from those that just took a bad beat at the table. " I'll be Back." Knowing, in my own mind that I wasn't coming back. At least not yet! so, I Reached for my coat and, turned for the door. I hopped inside my "Lamborghini" And drove back to the hotel. Where to no surprise I find "Empty" :bootyshak Unfortunately.

The B*tch had stole my money

so now, I start looking around and notice my room door slightly open. So I head down the hall Towards, the room and start hearing these Loud MOANS, GRUNTS, and " LOUD " SCREAMS of (enjoyment) look around the corner and There it was :bootyshak :toilet: :bootyshak :toilet: just picture the two guys stabbing that booty shaking....

and there it was.... my money spent on a ton of coke...... Damn! Whore had Snorted it up and having wild sex all over my bed and pillows, sliding in and out of our satin sheets. rump just flying all over the place :bootyshak :bootyshak :bootyshak and the two guys that are hitting it, had the most weirdest faces on

Kd) Turn.. and in slow motion the dealer throws a (Ks) " Your sitting on the edge of your seat." I say" And the Dealer Say's " To The River" and BAM!! Throws a ( 2C ) ...." Hell Yeah!", I Screamed Out " SHIP IT!!! and when you heard that "You" Knew it was over! You Show your hand Ak Hearts Suited And I Throw my

When we say that someone has got the "nuts", what is being said is that it has gotten close higher value, either with the community cards or private charters. And with the "nuts" can pose the strategy that suits us.

I understand what you're saying, both situations bring up the same problem in my opinion.

To an outside observer, the nuts on the first board would be JsQs, and the nuts on the 2nd board would be AA.

However, with the given hands, you know that that you have to have the best hand at that point.

As long as your had was unbeatable at some time, I allow it. I personally don't use it unless the river is out. I've seen many people simply call what they think is the winning hand the nuts. Like J K 10 suited flops and guy holding J 10 shows he two pair and says he was holding nuts. No sir you weren't but if you want to keep thinking bottom two is the best hand that's cool.

2P can never be considered the nuts on any board, so that person would just be plain wrong. It's pretty clear when you have a nut hand on a given board.

nuts is the best hand in a particular situation. when you have the best possible flop hand, it doesnt mean, that you have already won the hand. however after the river if you have the nuts, its because it is impossible not to win the hand unless, you split the pot with other player who has the exact same hand. for example the same set with same kicker or the same straight.
