Hi, I'm looking for clarification on etiquette in live games.
When declaring a raise do you say 'raise [amount of chips you are betting]' or do you say 'raise [amount of chips you are betting above the previous bets/raises]'.
For example. Say blinds are 10/20. Player under the gun bets 60. You are next to act and you want to raise to 120. Do you say 'raise 120' or do you say 'raise 60'?
And if you are re-raised and want to raise again? So in the above example everyone folds to player under the gun who wants to bet a total of 220 chips. Does player under the gun say 'raise 220' or 'raise 100' (calling 120 + raising 100 but not saying this because of the rules against string betting).
Any help appreciated.
