I was watching a tv show recently and a poker pro said that in his opinion within Five years all sites will only have 6 max cash games. The presenter agreed with him, what are your thoughts on this statement.

Nope. Because FR is what is spread in every live casino there will always be FR online as well.

Yeah majority of big mtts are fr too so can't see it disappearing, stars gives fr players a bigger multiplier on vpps as well so they actively reward you for plying fr!

I like 6 max the most. I don't think it will ever happen as long as there is a demand for 9/10 man ring games.

Who was this "pro" and this presenter?

90% of tournament games have 9max tables..not 6max so it's absolute rubbish unless they want to kill poker.

If this is in reference to cash games, then 6max is more popular, but it's not in their interest in getting rid of 9max tables.

^This. A certain percentage of people are always going to want to play online what they play live. Some are also going to want to practice online for their live games. Now, if the casinos ever went to spreading 6-max it might be different story, but that is never going to happen.

Exactly, and casinos are never going to move away from full ring because space wise it makes much more sense for them to cram as many people around a table as they can fit.

I also prefer 6 max myself, but there is no way I can see FR going away anytime soon.

I heard there was actually going to be a shift to 12-man tables but setup like 6max.,... only the players sit back-to-back on rotating barstools instead of chairs & when they rotate their chair, they're also then seated at another 'rotating' table.. pretty much like 'Live Rush 6max'... but really it's 12-max.
I heard them say it'd be 6yrs. til' this was totally standard (as opposed to 5yrs.).

I can't wait... I like barstools & really miss Rush.

Sounds like a nice idea. Multi-tabling Live.

I've always had the concept in my head of having multiple tables stacked on top of each other where each players seat elevates between the different tables. Live tables are slower than online ones so it's mostly just the physical positioning stopping multi-tabling.

How about 'battleship' style.... all players on the table are on a laptop computer (6max obviously... cuz fullring will be obsolete by then ;) ) & each of them are sitting on 4tables w each other (w seating the same on all of them but random seat changes 'on the hour')

There was a thread a few years ago about a dealerless live poker table that was being marketed. No physical cards, it looked like a online SnG with live bodies.

Lol this is the sort of thing I'd suggest to troll those Live players who are sickened by online tables/Huds/online players etc. Play online but in person!! :D

These exist -- I've played them at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, MI.

I highly doubt it. Some people like 6 max, some people like FR. The sites should continue to have a demand for both so I suspect the sites will supply both.

^ this. Live casinos will never go 6-max only because they wouldn't be able to fit in as many paying customers.

This is insanity. I am a 6max player and believe it is the game of the future. But please please tell me why online sites will try to close down the format which yields them the 2nd most traffic. Compare fr nlhe to 6m limit razz in terms of traffic/revenue and you have your answer.
