make me wanna quit.. I have not been playing a lot lately because after a pretty bad month of March i decided to take some steam off and chill out. I played this month occasionally, hour here , hour there only cash games.. Every time I come back I get bad beats and keep loosing I`m not sure what is going on. I know my game is not that bad to be constantly losing.. I have read so many books and played consistently for over a year. Today i`m having another bad day.. this shit never ends for me.. Now i`m on tilt and again i need some time off or i`m gonna go on the higher stakes tables and lose even more... Can i keep running this bad all the time? This has started on February after a great month of January. Come on 3 bad months in the row??? Sorry guys i`m spilling my guts here and complaining but right now i`m feeling pretty bumed out...

Well you have been around long enough to know now that your gonna have these dry spells. All of is know it happens but really pay no attention to it until it happens to us. All I can tell you friend is when it happens to me.....I just stop the cash games....period.....and then I will pick and choose the freerolls for awhile..... The other thing I do is read the poker books I have on the shelves...or some magazine articles. Sorry for no better advice. I have also learned to schedule my poker time in the cash games and play for a certain period of time. I find balance in my game and family that way...A win-win situation. Good luck in finding what works right for you.

so crazy

I have been having those days like "groundhogs day" it seems, over and over again. I think that online poker has nearly ruining the game of poker itself it fosters such terrible plays and such ridiculous outcomes. I ofcourse have no proof or these sites would have been shut down. I agree the comfortability of online is hard to beat.

sooner or later this happens to all of us playing a lot of online poker, frustrating over all..., if it happens to me i stop play money games i only play freerolls til i think the bad time is over and a game with my mates at a real table helps too, its different there its more the common thing that counts than making money

My belief is after a couple months you have to start looking at your game and if it has changed or will need to be changed compared to it when you were winning before. You can run cold for a week or two, but when it stretches into months I think it's how and what cards you are playing as well as other factors such as buy-in amount, table image, aggression factor, etc.

My sig used to say that if I didnt run so bad id never get any exercise.
I have had long period of streches where nothing you could do was right.
But it feels so good when your playing and have been losing for a peirod of time and then you break the ice.
BAM you get your first win after a long run of bad cards.
Feels great.

To be honest with you I did open up my range but not that much, and it is usually only from position, i continue to play tight OOP. I am not sure if that's the problem. I tend to lose a lot when i`m the one who raises and connect well but the one person that decides to call me hits it even better. Another thing that changed in my game is i tend to play a lot more bigger pots, a lot more 3 betting and 4 betting and shoving in with the best hand on the turn or flop just to be outdrawn by the river. It is usually me who is holding a better hand before the last card shows. I tend to lose a lot of those 60/40, 75/25 type of hands where im a favorite but those who decide to call against the odds seem to hit each time. (well maybe not every time but a majority which makes me feel like It is not my decisions that are incorrect but the unlucky suck outs). I`m not sure whats going on. I will try to really tighten up my game for a week or so, something in a range of 15/9 and see if this will improve my game for now..

yes it happens , but come on.. I sit down and i`m down by 2 buy ins in a matter of minutes... Poker GODS are hating on me... i did not even want to post these hands here but this frustration is just starting to get into me.. I`m bragging about losing hands like i`ve never experienced them before.. It is really frustrating to be losing almost every big pot... Ive went through times where i was just not getting any good cards and losing hands here and there, but 3 months of constantly finding myself in a wrong place at the wrong time is just starting to get me pissed...

Tell me about it.I was running great for a few days, making back to back final tables in a $5.50 Horse tourney winning one of them. Now all of a sudden my higher pocket pairs are losing on the river to lower pocket pairs and my flopped sets are losing to runner runner flushes.I can handle losses like this if they don't felt me but these times they have and its frustrating to say the least. It all falls in variance i guess...
