I was remembering when pokerstars were very close to their milestone 5billionth hand and I asked myself, "will I ever play 5 billion hands in my life time?" I dont think I will get close to 5 billion hands played in my life, if it is even possible. It is hard to phathom BILLION let alone a million.. Very few things are done in life that will repeat enough to have been done 1mill times.

Is there anyone here who has a good guess or some numbers from a good source as to how mant hands and average poker player online and B&M will play in a year?

If you played 40,000 hands/hr, 10 hours a day, 250 days a year, for 50 years you'd get to 5 billion.

So, that would mean 500 tabling. You might need to stack!

Nice Pavster, good to know. At least we are getting closer to being able to play 40k hands a day with Full Tilts addition of Rush. hahahaha
