You people are crazy to participate in a forum that is paid off by the online poker sites to promote gambling addiction.

Research shows that 65% of gambling venue profits come from addicted gamblers. If you stay here you will become one too.

Wow, haha. Usually I say "Welcome" to new members. But I dont have time as I am melting my Ace of Spade in my little golden spoon, and need to get it injected before I start climbing the walls. But first I will smoke that Ten of Clubs, it is soooo addicting.

And I have to get to the bank before it closes, to cash that huge check the poker sites pay me every week. We all work for the poker sites, and you have seen through us.

But seriously, WTF are you even doing here, looking to make friends maybe?...............

Just because you use the word "Research" you think you sound less of an idiot? Cause you dont. Your statement REEKS of stupidity and idiocy. What "research"? Some random thoughts bouncing around in your paranoid little brain that you post here as "Research"?. This site is paid off by the online poker sites? Post links to your "research" and proof to your claims or GTFO and quit spewing nonsense.

Hi Michael and welcome to CardsChat.
I am assuming you joined us because you are either addicted or would like be.
Good luck!!!
Oh and we don't promote gambling addiction, just gambling.:)
Given your first post, I think it's safe to say that you suck at poker, this site can help improve your game fwiw.

It's called discipline & will power. The only time you become "addicted" to something is because you lack 1 of those 2 traits.

Sounds like you need to work on 1 &/or both.

You are correct about the crazy part though. I wish you the best of luck on your endeavor. Cya around man :top:

You guys were so much nicer than me, I feel ashamed........... well, almost.

Maybe OP is a gambler with a problem, I guess I didnt consider that.

So let me backtrack and say Welcome. And actually, mane people here are active players, and play as a hobby, lead otherwise productive lives, and are nice people to boot. I usually am too, so sorry if I came down a bit hard.

Michael, your articles at Helium, great writing, however, most of us here have experience with the game and those types of articles.
You are better off preaching to people outside of a poker forum.
I do have to ask, why did you come here, nothing to post there today?
If it would be to "warn us" the equivalent would be walking in to a bar to preach about alcoholism.
Save some time...

I googled him and a bunch of articles he writes for them came up.
A good read and some articles can be informative to the right audience.
Definitley the OP given some of the topics.

OK I will look as well. How did you do in the carbon game? My daughter woke up from a nightmare and asked me to lie down with her till she fell asleep, and I was asleep first......lol but it was 1:30 am here.

And I go to bars all the time to preach about alcoholism. Because they say "Practice what you preach"......l..

Honestly I find those artcles a waste of time but if you are at work and getting paid like I am right now, then worth it, lol.

I will go with this derail, because I don't find this thread worthy of topic, I sucked in the Carbon game, and I guess my addictive impulses kicked in because I then HAD to register for an all in or fold tourney which I sucked in as well...:D

OK just read his "Which Poker room to avoid" article. And I was not far off with my "In before the merge" comment. He is defo a rigtard when it comes to poker, but seems to be an intelligent guy otherwise, and a decent writer.

But Micheal, your thing about many people here being paid by the sites on forums - at least this one - is simply wrong. There may be a few who work for a site, but I dont know them. And you make some claims that are not backed up by ANYTHING except the fact that you say its true. Please back up your claims with some sources. Or do you simply "know" this is true??
You may enjoy this thread https://www.cardschat.com/forum/pok...gged-megathread-all-rigged-roads-lead-228298/

His post is surprisingly troll-like compared to his articles on helium, which at least seem thoughtful if not always right. I was going to write something snarky inquiring as to why, with all of the health related articles he has written, he hasn't written any dealing with an addiction that has done far more damage than poker... and which happens to be part of his pen name. But then I saw his bio, and anyone who likes Spyro Gyra's "Morning Dance" can't be all bad.

To be fair, he didn't say you would lose - just that you would become addicted.

This just in: Poker sites collect more rake from people who play a lot than from people who don't.

- Ric Romero reporting.

And finally, not from Michael Smoker, but from a different "expert" (Boris3) on Helium:

Say the flop was Q Q 4, and you have 44, the only hand that could possibly beat you is Q 4, but since your opponent only plays 23% of his hands you can almost completely rule him out as having Q 4, as that is not even a top 50% hand.

QQ anyone? :p

lol yep. Hey Micheal, watch this guy play online and then tell me that poker is not skill and psychology but pure rigged algorithmic. But then he probably works for the poker site......................

Also I must say i have somewhat of an addiction to play, although I feel it is more a love for the game thing. So it may be possible that my love/addiction to the game has helped me get better and become successful?

man you always try to one up me?

I'm hoping you're not really upset, but it's hard to tell sometimes if there are no smilies.

This one was just for a laugh. The hand analysis one was nothing personal - I just was trying to understand it and things didn't add up.
