There is ongoing discussion on what should be allowed and what should be fobidden on the poker table. There are attempts of making poker more social again and for example WPT wants to try new rules for some tournaments.

Sunglasses, cell phones, headphones and hoods are banned from the tournament area in an attempt to "create social interaction among players," the event's official structure sheet says.

"It basically started with conversations I've had with photographers, who I think are vital to our industry," he said in an interview with PokerNews in Florida in early April. "They're walking around the table. There's no interaction, there's nobody not looking at their cell phones. When they take photographs, it's almost impossible to catch somebody without a phone in front of them."

pokerstars got into partnership with Kevin Hart, US actor and comedian and actually it is quite interesting what he says. I've always enjoyed the social aspect of poker and I would be pretty sad if I attended a tournament and people would be dressed up like a ninjas ;).

What are your thoughts on that? Do you prefer no rules on the clothing or would you prefer rules similar to those proposed by WPT?

Jesus Christ. You cannot wear a mask to play poker. I've played at a Casino in canada and they didn't let me wear my hoodie's hood.

Lot of tells with your face sitting on a table will help your oppenement. I' m not a big fan covering all my tells. Stay there in passif mode and play like you play at your home game that is my focus.

i really dont get too much the science behind covering your face and stuff alike... if you stay focused you can express the same thing independently of your hand

Watched Marginal place high in a tourney last weekend & was reminded by the girl who either took 1st or second, if they don't put in a clock the game is gonna suffer just like golf. I think masks, hoodies & sunglasses are fine playing online, live, don't have an opinion.

Depends on the place actually. I prefer playing and watching poker were you can't cover your face, but I saw some cases of wearing scarfs / hoodies / sunglasses in big televised tournaments. This is killing social aspect of the game, but as long as the tourney / casino allows it, you can't do anything about it. That's why I am quite happy in the way that WPT is going with just forbidding such things.

At the poker table there should be some rules and restrictions as far as clothes are concerned, otherwise it will come to the point that someone will come to play naked))))

I agree, unless you have a medical reason for say sunglasses, all the other crap you see live players doing and wearing is kind of ridiculous. now the picture above is down right comical.

I think there should be a rule that everyone has to play with an uncovered face and no sun glasses. The beauty of live poker is to read your opponents and try and pick up signals as to whether they are strong or weak. I don't blame players for abusing this, given there are no real rules prohibiting in most countries to my knowledge. Just my opinion of course.

I prefer to play poker face to face, the tactic of observing the opponent is part of the game, if you cover your face some movement will make you replace the concealment of your face
