Sharkscope: It's for NolitaDenise at Cake. I'm scared I'm some sort of a freak. It's for only 35 tournaments because I just changed my name last night. I'm still at about the same level and trying something different for R&A's.

What has me confused is why it doesn't look like other sharkscopes I've seen. My inclines and declines aren't very steep. The others I've seen are almost vertical and mine are mostly shallow. At one point I flatline completely, though only for the briefest of time.

I'm just worried that I'm doing something wrong. But I probably need hundreds of games on a graph for it to show up. Just hoping someone can make heads or tails of my short term.

Honestly, this is like asking somebody to make sense of their ring game graph even tho they have only played 500 hands. No offense but asking anything over a period of 35 tournaments is just silly...when you have like 500 then you can "make heads or tails" of it.

The sharkscope sample size is too small to tell you much. Looks like you lost some, had a hot streak, and settled down some.

Since most people are losing players, you're doing better than average. But you'll need more games under your belt for the results to match where your really stand as a player. IE, the more you play, the more opportunities your skill (or donkness) will have to overcome the swirling sea of luck/variance.

Thanks SavagePenguin. I figured it was too small, but since these tournaments only happen three times a day and I can't make the first, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

As it is, I'll try to fit more SnG's into my "schedule". Another thing I'm trying starting today is registering later for the R&A. I noticed that with this one being so cheap that the cracks in armor show up about 5 or 10 minutes before the first break/add-on period and just get bigger once antes are introduced. I'm thinking that by registering just a few minutes prior to the first break I can invest less and recoup more. For the most part these aren't pros or even very good players and they keep playing the hands that were perfectly fine during the Rebuy period well after they've amassed a large stack. They're easy to dent.

Oops I left out something. Once they collect tens of thousands of chips many of the other players morph into tight passive players. It's very strange. A handful become rocks, now I just have to remember to not push it too much, that when a rock pushes back I better have at least two pair on the flop if not the nuts.

So the idea is that I'll buy in for less, take advantage of the personality shift, and win more when I win and lose less when I lose.

I don't put much stock into sharkscope. Admittedly I'm not a SNG or MTT pro but my Cake graph shows -$400. While I am probably not positive it surely does not reflect a $325 win I had last month. Unless there is that much lag in their system I believe they don't get ALL the info they need to report accurately. Just my 2 cents.

fwiw, sharkscope only covers SnGs. if you had any MTT scores, they won't be on there, but officialpokerrankings tracks those

According to their site you are most definitely right. Now my confusion comes in that I have NEVER played a SNG on Cake and yet I'm negative $400 according to sharkscope . I'm losing money on games I don't even play! I better quit now.

Weirdness. My sharkscope graphs all from MTT R&A tournaments with a max of 1,000 players and SnG's. I can even see where I had two big finishes in the R&A's + a second place finish in the $5 Omaha hi-lo split that I treated myself to after placing well in the R&A's and performing well in ring games.
