I heard it this morning on NPR (public radio in the US). Vegas casinos are worried because millennials--people born after 1980--prefer videogames over slot machines. The report went on to say that millennials prefer online gaming and games of skill to gambling (they want some control over the outcomes of the game) and want a social interaction component in their games.

To me, this is a perfect recipe for online poker (and poker forums!). It provides the perfect combination of what is attractive to this generation. If the PPA (Poker Players Alliance) could make a case for this aspect it could be an incentive for casinos to stop fighting online poker and instead to embrace it. Keep the slot machines for the over 45 crowd and join into online gambling ventures to increase the revenues from the under 35 crowd.

What do you think?

I wouldn't necessarily say they would save online poker, but they could definitely bring in some easy cash for us pros.

If it's legalized, the money will come. Just look at daily fantasy games,

Millennias Possibly could save poker. The biggest reason online gambling was banned is because live casinos I believe. The fact they can now move in on the market things are starting to change. I was born after 1980 and i love to play video games and other games of skill.

Exactly... the money will flow through when the laws are clear and upfront. There's was so much uncertainty to the point that the US DOJ ruled one way, and then ruled against itself not to much after their first ruling. Why that happened, I'm surprised there aren't more articles and people discussing that... but that's another topic. :)

Get clear laws... poker will thrive again.

The casino's could always connect/network their ring games and sit n gos with an interface that has players using separate machine so they can play each other.
It would take the best part of the game though ... player interaction.
