Apologize if this is the incorrect forum. I just have a question about a tournament directors call, I do understand it is final, I want to know if the decision was correct.

Tournament play, 7 players, position 6 is the dealer, 4 players pre-flop no raisers. On the flop
2

all check around to player 5 who bets 2,000, player 6 and 7 call, everyone else folds. Turn is

6

player 7 checks, player 5 bets 6,000 player 6 goes all in for 10,000, player 7 calls, player 5 completes the bet. Player 6 all in, player 5 and 7 still live. The river is

10

player 7 checks, player 5 checks then player 7 shows their cards, followed immediately by player 5, player 6 who is all in has not played his hand yet nor did player 6 (dealer) ask anyone to roll their cards over..

The Tournament director was called over and they determined that player 7 and 5 had mucked their hands and player 6 was the winner.

Player 5 is livid because they felt that as soon as player 7 exposed their cards live play was over as player 6 was all in and the hand should have been between players 5 and 6. The hands were

player 7: A

Was the TD's call correct or should have player 5 won?

TDA rules for the tournament with a few minor variations, however nothing that affected the play in this hand.

that is an outragious call if the all check and the other player is all 9in then there is nothing lest to do but turn over the cards.

If I followed the action correctly, the live hands had checked the river while the other 2 were already allin? If that's the case I don't even understand why the TD was involved. Did I miss something? Who called him and what was the issue exactly? It seems quite clear.

Ok at that point I am pretty sure I might go into rage mode. I might be ignorant but I definitely don't understand td's line of thought. Can anyone elaborate on why this might be the CORRECT call? Only thing I can think of is maybe players 5 and 7 went face up and both saw that 5 clearly had 7 beat. Then they both assumed 6 lost but mucked their cards before 6 had shown or mucked. In that case 6 would have a strong case for being the winner.

If I'm reading this right, then the action is completed in the hand when 5 (stupidly) checks the river. 6 is all in and has no action on that street. How did the TD even get involved?
