Conduct should be the same no matter live or on line, small or big stakes. I'm sixty playing for most my life. My dad told me win with grace lose with honor, till this day I try to. Tuff to do it when insults fly at myself or others, no won wins. I'll make my best effort to knock them out and I'll drive them crazy with kindness and that gets in their head

Look around you; do you really think we still live in that kind of world? Sad to say, no we do not. I wish.

No, few are being raised today with that kind of upbringing. Today kids are raised by the TV, the internet, the iphone, etc; so it's no surprise that in the safety of home small minded twits get ballsy online. There is a bright side, however;

Sooner or later they go out in the real world, forget they are not online, say the wrong thing to the wrong person and get the living bejesus beat out of them. Or someday find themselves before a judge/cop, smart off, and get the max the law allows.

Sad to say, they seldom learn from it, fail to understand that, and end up in deep kimchi.

Take this fool, for example;

have you ever ?

I think this is an insteresting question.
What was your biggest fight ever in online poker and why?
I fought with a russian once in a freerollbecause he was going all in every single hand and was trying to give poker lessons to everyone just because he was lucky that night and bored.
I waited a few good hands and eventually kick him out of the tournament and started to insult me for an hour.
He told me that argentinians should be erase from earth, that we were useless , and I was going to lose all my money because I didn't even know wha poker was.
I only called his all in with great hands but he kept insisting and insult my whole family till I got mad and start answering back.
I switched tables a few hands and he followed me telling everyone how tilt I was andthey should be all in when I raise because I was a fish. A lot of players listened to him which was stupid and finally I lose and he laughs for an hour.
Ten minutes later I was in zoom and he showed up and keep insulting me again. I finally gave up and stop playing that night.

I've never experienced such a prolonged attack by a poker troll but I have some some similar situations when an idiot player is ejected but still hangs around texting abuse (at other player mainly).

I tend to find it amusing, but then the insults are not directed at me. If they were and I felt it was affecting my game negatively then I would turn off the chat screen.

Poker is a game of situations and like it or not dealing with such a player is a situation that you need to be prepared for.

- It sounds like you have half of this covered. Agro Maniac = Wait for good hands and sack him. Sometimes this will fail so be prepared for that, but it's +EV. It worked out for you this time which is great, knocking out a douchbag is the cherry on the cake.

- The second half is probably why you started this thread. How do you stop these types ruining your game\session?
1. Know that they are douchbags and that everyone else can see this too.
2. Know that you will profit from them in the long game.
3. Don't do what they want! Don't react. Switch of the chat if feel it's getting to you or just quietly laugh at what the imbecile says next.

If you think other players are playing different against you because of the troll then adjust for this (play tighter if you're not sure what's going on yet). It could also be that the personal slurs are indeed tilting you, be careful here.

It takes practice to be patient.

I have to say that I've never been involved this kind of confrontation . . . mostly because I have the fastest mute button in the history of Western Civilization. :creep:

Cheers!

Nowadays........Never.

As soon as you let emotion rule over logic, you will lose. Maybe not the next hand or the one after, but eventually.

You need to have a lot of mental stability to be a long term winner.

There are a lot of vocal idiots in online poker (especially at the bottom of the foodchain). These will 99% of the time be losing players, just remind yourself of this when some moron starts railing you with insults.

Usually I don't get involve in a fight, but that night I was in a really bad place and couldn't help it, but I don't do that, I didn't hide the chat because I was moved to a table where a friend of mine was playing and we were catching up, or at least trying to.
I always deal with donks that go all in every single hand just because it's a freeroll and they always attack everyone and I laugh but I got mad and react, I know it's a stupid think to do but couldn't help it, that's why I left in first place.

I'm aware of that but there's no need to look for a fight, in a freeroll most player go all in all the time and not with great hands because the money is for only a few and they think they can make it by going all in all the time.

There are a lot of trolls online so I do my best to ignore them, as silly as it sounds playing live poker with my friends has led to some heated confrontations in the past between all of us, but it has never escalated from verbal bombs.

Not really, I have asked a few people to respect that some people don't want to see/read the juvenile things that they post on the chat and that will get a response from time to time but I hardly ever have gone back and forth with someone.

I have pissed off plenty of people in my poker history in live and online. Some stay on and just cant get over it and some just say FU and thats it. I really havent had someone hunt me down at a different table. But you just never know about people these days, people do just about anything.

comments and play

Comments and play it happens on any level of play. When playing we have to hold off on any negative comments no matter how small, on a knock out no matter how the play went down. If you win just say good game nothing has to be said of the play. When you lose good game and good luck same thing hold off on any words. It is best said what I was told a long time ago " win with grace lose with honor". Act like pro and take win or loss and go on to your next game. Till we meet again good cards good games to you.

in todays world and society you have to realize that people do not have the same morals as you and were not brought up with fathers like yours so you cant expect for people to conduct themselves in the manner in which you carry yourself just continue to play your game the way you play and good luck and try not to let the actions of others bother you

Quarrels can be tolerated up to certain limits, if no swearing. Swearing is too much, especially when it does not exist for a reason.
Oh yes, I believe you're bored after all, when there was silence, there were probably interesting moments :)

I do not like it when people are being racist or homophobic. There is no place for that in modern society. Some of us play to wind down not to get wound up...

Worst comment while playing online

I was wondering what is the worst comment you have heard while playing. I know I have said some pretty nasty stuff just to see if it would get someone mad.
