Poker is considered a sport of the mind, like chess. If Poker were at the Olympics, for you who would have the medals for:
Gold:?
Silver:?
Bronze: ?

Neither poker nor chess can be considered as olympic events. The original olympics were five events based on physical abilities

I think that the first, second and third place would be taken by the Somali team, because they have a lot of pirates.

I believe that every country, big or small, has its own poker stars. It was all the more interesting to watch the poker competitions at the Olympic Games!

Poker at the Olympics would be great. You could have multiple events but I think it will never happen because it is too closely related to gambling and wagering. I would like to see it though.

I don't think poker is like chess. much less can it be an Olympic sport.
In poker someone who does not know how to play can beat a good poker player, but in chess that does not happen, a novice will never beat a master.

Not sure why it keeps getting bandied about, this "poker @ olympics" question. It's not a physical sport, not even close to the same vein.

As far as different countries having good players and how they would stack up, well, it's already a thing with wsop, WPT etc. No restrictions on entry, I see plenty of players representing their country/culture etc. No reason to look at the Olympics as an option when we already have a world wide event right?

I watched the skateboarding olympics for the first time and loved it

I like all the modalities of the Olympics, when I have time I start to see the summaries

I think WSOP events that come around every years can be consider like the poker Olympics for professionals trying to cash and win bracelets.

Poker at the Olympics would be interesting but there are too many things to work out to make it feasible.
