I was playing on Fulltilt in a $4.40 Rush tourney and made the final table. There were three of us left. The other two players were Brazilian idiots. I have nothing against Brazilians, but the fact they were both from brazil made their collusion obvious. Every time one of them would get low in chips the other would dump of chips to him. THis would keep both of them in the game, making it very hard for me to gain any headway on them. I ended up finishing 3rd for this reason.
I put this in a thread so other players in this position will know what they can do about it. I E-mailed collusion@fulltilt.com and repoted them using the tounament number. Fulltilt will investigate and does take action. In many cases they will take away their winnings and freeze their account so they can no longer play on Fulltilt. Players that stoop so low to do this deserve everything they get.
So if you are ever in this position, please report it and help keep the idiots off of Fulltilt!!

Nationality is not a measure of dumbness or idiocy (BTW dumb has to do with hearing impairment)... but you could be right about collusion, if you can point to specific hands, so good you called it in. Calling people dumb because of where they are from is just plain ignorant IMHO (particularly if you lie/qualify by saying "I have nothing against..." the group you are slandering).

What if they were 2 American players and u were from Brazil?

If there is collusion Stars will track it with your report.

NO no, you misheard me. I didn't mean that because they were from brazil they were stupid enough to put they were both from brazil, under information in the cashier, you can put any country you want, it is not based on Ip. hope that clears things up,

I read u right... so u r from Romania then? If all colluders chose different countries it would all even out eventually I guess..

My experience is that there is tons of collusive play around and yes I do look for countries and regions at same table. I know bunches from various places at various sites. Hard to prove.

Swarming and/or Timplay in MTTs is common tho and the RUSH ones might be more likely. :D

This is the problem statement from OP: "There were three of us left. The other two players were Brazilian idiots. I have nothing against Brazilians, but the fact they were both from brazil made their collusion obvious."

That statement causes problems for me

response to OP

I couldn't care less where they were from. However, noticing they were both from the same area seem to make their collusion very obvious to me. Calling them idiots had nothing to do with their origin, but to do with the fact that they were a low enough individuals to resort to cheating to do well in a tournament. There is no lower person to me than a person who is a cheater. That makes them total idiots in my book!!
I will not and cannot apologize for the harshness of my statements concerning this type of individual. I have no respect for them.

I do not think the colusion is so obvious as u say. Just a coincidence.
U will see playing poker a lot of americans, chinesse, brasilians, indians, russians because there are a lot of them.
It is hard to see 2 ppl from Feroe Islands at a final table. It is hard to see at least one.

Cheating at online poker is a very douche baggery type behavior. If you've learned anything from the recent large scale cheating/collusion rings in China and other regions they are far from "stupid". Matter a fact them knowing there is little to no chance at ever serving a day in prison due to this behavior it's actually pretty dam smart way of making a quick buck. Look at Russ Hamilton that f*ckr made millions and he's still out there living life and playing golf.

Criminals, douche bags, a-holes, ect all these things apply... stupid doesn't.

It's just a part of playing online poker, just like disconnects, and other issues like your wireless keyboard dying in the middle of a big session. I don't support or care for these jerks, but me hating them doesn't take away from the fact that it is going on everday and will continue to grow.

I was a victim of a virus where someone could see my screen remotely. I was told that this virus not only allowed them to see my screen, but it notified them when I was online. Once they knew I was online they would just wait for me to sign-up for a hu sng or similar and rape my $. I also feel this effected my game in other ways, but thats a different story.

Collusion exists in many tournaments especially among friends. For this reason, many tournaments make a valid attempt to separate friends and/or family from starting on the same table. but as the tournament progresses, they can be put on the same table. Most friends compete to win and will try their best to out play their friends or family, thus keeping the integrity of the game intact. Obvious collusion should be handles immediately and all should be removed from play. The English only rule is good to prevent collusion between players speaking in a different language. In all sports, players become friends even if they are on different teams or whatever. Most of them play to better themselves, and once the game begins are friendships are off. the same should be true in poker also, but sometimes it is not. Play carefully and report collusion if you expect it happening in your game. If nothing is done, leave the tournament or cash game...sendittoken...

Pretty sure they don't have to mention that they're from Brazil.... it's written right on your avatar when you 'mouse over' it.

Both from Brazil..... must know each other, LOL. Maybe they don't know each other at all.... just seeing that they notice other player is also from Brazil may have evoked the play goin' on (<< still not ok though obv).

My experience with Fulltilt collusion investigations has been quite good. Hope things work out for ya. (maybe they already have.... as I haven't read thru the rest of the posts on this thread... .'yet')

Where a player is from does not make a difference. You can have a player from two different countries doing this. I have been at tables where I have seen this happening and I really don't think the sites have a way to handle this.

Not that it matters much to the discussion, but "dumb" has to do with speech, as in being a "mute"; hence the phrase "deaf, dumb and blind": can't hear, speak or see.

I dont see how there could posssibly be collusion in a rush poker tourny. You have alll new players every hand and there is no way a few people could tell each other there cards or not play against each other because the chances are they arent at the same table every hand

'Teamplay' is a way of hijacking a tourney, and would work in rush. If you have 10 players working a field of 135, there are lots of chances for dumping, softplay etc... when 2 or more get seated together... and then again... etc.. which put the odds very much in the 'team's' favour... and they would be talking in real time of course...

Congratulations on taking 3rd.
I agree that if they were actually working together, and dumping chips to eachother, then they deserve what ever they get.

Thanks!

This has happened to me as well, where it was obvious that the 2 remaining players were colluding against me. I sent an email to collusion@fulltilt.com and explained why I thought they were colluding and asked them to investigate. They did, agreed with me, and deposited the winning amount into my account in like 2 days. I came away quite impressed with the process. Oh, and supposedly the two guilty accounts had the winnings pulled from their accounts and were going to be suspended and fully investigated. Can't argue with results.

I often tell players: "English Only" for that collusion reason. No one pays any attention (language barrier maybe .... ). It IS a rule at every single poker site, except for those tourneys specific to 1 country or another.

The only thing I've noticed about most players from Brazil and Russia are they are super aggressive. I know of a couple of people here in my city (Ft. Worth, TX.) that got caught and yes their accounts were frozen, the father of one told me about it. They are cheats and thieves in all parts of their lives. Buying stolen stuff and etc.
Take care

If you are afraid of collusion then you should play only bigger tournaments !

Don't think that they can do it there too...

et1961 Thanks for this thread. I am a retired senior widower and spend a lot of time playing mostly play money but do play real money in between. Certain times of the day about all you can get to play with are foreigners because the Americans are usually working during most of the daytime. I get into many games loaded with foreigners and don't seem to get anywhere when playing foreigners in general. It does seem that they do help each other out in some way or another. You made my day as I thought it was just me. Have the good day and thanks. I think I will start putting the address (Collusion@fulltilt.com) in the chat box when I see this going on.

So what happened? Some times you might think that two players are colluding, when they in fact dont even know each other.

I would never report collution unless I had check up on the suspects a bit.

Actually if they were intentionally cheating by colluding, then why didnt they play a STT instead of an MTT?
