I play freerols basically everyday on full tilt but what I read on the internet with the pot odds and everything I cant put it into practice when playing freerolls. I have read a fair bit online about strategy but I want to read lots of books. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GOLD

please dont say you're close to starting a poker career bud. you're thousands of miles away from it. yep, you need books. but you also have to read at CC and digest the info, as well as watch poker videos at various sites etc. why cant you put into practice pot odds etc into freerolls? I play them to practice plays/styles etc, works for me.
My advice, learn learn learn, and play play and play. get a bankroll, practice BR management, win money, move up, win more money, move up again, then take a month of playing 6 hours+ of poker every day and see how you do. if you are a winning player in this mont, then, and only then, think about turning pro.

What kind of games do you wish to play?

Some quick advice is before you sign up too sites research the best deal, for example CC usually has some great freeroll promotions for signing up on some sites. Look up all options for the best deal for you in the long term. No use getting a mega sign up for 1 million % bonus if you are not going to unlock it. Look at the extra games you can get with added value etc.

Depending on what you want to play comes what to read. I picked up a starter book a mindset book and theory book when I first started. I got Gordons green and blue books which are a bit dated in some respects but teaches you some fundimentals, I got them cheap though, some cash game players may have good ideas. I read when I started.

Blue and green book- good to ease into some reading

Phil Shaws sng book- was quite good and had lots of hand history's to work through.

Moshmans sng book- most people recomend it and so will I as a starting point.

Zen and the art of poker- was a enjoyable read about the mind set but Jared Tendlers mindset book is what most read.

Gus Hansens every hand- for fun and to see how he records basically a whole tourney with thought on his plays.

I have read some other books but depends what you wanna play.

Most of all post in threads to get peoples opinions as we have some good players here.

Prob have more to add but mega tired gl mate.

Meh I dont mind people saying they are starting a career as long as they are realistic and have something else that will give them a living when the inevitable usally happens.

Think of this as your apprenticeship, use good BR management so you do not go broke (very important). Study the basics and get good at them, create a poker plan how many hours will you play and when will you move up if you do well and for how long etc. Once you have learnt the basics trial some software maybe and training sites if you wish.

Most importantly, be realistic. You are not going to be making a lot of money fast, you will be grinding alot. Find something you enjoy and/or are good at and grind it. Work to support your poker until your poker works to support you. Any upcoming decent player you read there threads and realise they are studying something or going to work at a decent job.

Also track your profit and loss so you know where you are at.

I dont mind in the context that its best to approach it seriously bang some cash on and train like the london to manchester train when you take poker up rather than spend you life making pennies nitting it up..

Don't rush into the games. Be patient and learn, learn, learn. It takes time and effort. Play for a while(month or so) and see how you do, then do some deciding. CC is good start to learn. Check out all the forums - some good advice.
Good luck at the tables.

Blackrains stuff is great for the micro micros and getting the basics engrained before moving on to more advanced stuff.

Easy game - I think that was the book Cafe gave me... That's very good anyway, some interesting concepts from an obviously intelligent player.
