no drugs, no alcohol while playing poker. it's better to keep clear in your mind

Yea that is true,ciggarets and drink can really help us to play poker more easy because we are not in stress.

I can not say anything about how cigarettes affect your game, but about alcohol during the game, I'm exactly against !!!!! You can not lose concentration during the game, and alcohol relaxes !!!!!

I reasonable amount of alcohol at the table is alright. There are some that can't handle their alcohol though and become beligerant, there has to be a cutoff point. As for smoking, here in Ontario, canada, it's pretty well banned in all public places, I don't think I could last long in a heavily smoked filled environment. cough.

If you play for fun only, of course you can drink as much as you wish. I know some people find some special feeling, when they play drunk, usually some freeroll games. You know, it is a bad idea to play drunk on any serious money. To be honest, i,ve never heard, that alchogol was usefull for somebody and help anyhow in the game.
You loose control on your mind, so my advice is just to forget about that.

I've played after a few beers before and been lucky enough to get away with it but always regretted it because it's so easy to make a mistake if you've been drinking. I wouldn't recommend poker and booze.

I agree about the drinking but I disagree about the smoking. Anyways I don't know any Poker Room that allows smoking.

Cigarettes yes, especially at the later stage of the tournament in tense situations, they relaxing me. ;) And when I drink a couple of drinks I playing bravely.

according to me I don't like drink and smoke during the game , because you loose your attention and concentration of game! Drunken players are lost mostly!!

In my experience drinking light makes my game more lively as we all know poker sometimes is a boring game especially if your card dead and waiting for a good hand or good spot..

i think most if not all casinos in vegas thier poker rooms are non smoking?

Personally, I never during the game, don't drink alcohol it dulls thinking and you can make a lot of mistakes,but I smoke during the game) it calms me down

For me drinks and poker only one answer - NO. What about smoking it is hard to answer, cause if you are smoking it is hard to wait 4-5 hours do not smoking. I know that it is bad habit but it is very hard to throw.

I think cigarette is good for stress and if u have too a Bier fash u are better focus solution for me

I smoke, and much, as for the drink I do not agree to take during a game, since in reality it is an inhibitor, as well as produces effects and is not recommended to drive, the same in a game, your reactions will not be the same

I play poker I smoke this slightly reduces nerves when your hand does not play but if you drink a strong drink you can safely but do not drink too much to play and do not smoke I can not,In a good casino you can relax a bit but not much to understand that you play for money

Either you have insane discipline, or you just don't realise how different you are when drinking. Sure, 1 glass won't change much, but i assume "drinking" here is at least 5 in a relatively short span. And in 95% of the cases, probably more, it's gonna affect gameplay.
