Hi all.

I`m gonna give this a go for fun.

I`ll keep you all posted monthly.

Wish me luck in the long hours of freerolls for the next few months

And it gets better - I will not post one bad beat story :D

I don`t think I`ll hit $10k - my target for 12 months is $1,000. Let see what I can do.

I'm on the same plan, actually. First goal is $500 within a year. I usually only get to play 3-5 freerolls a week, so cashing may be rare.

I told a lie!!!

I`m starting with a small bankroll $97.57 to be exact, but what I meant to say was I`m using the same theory and aiming to get to $1,000 in a year!!! (I doubt I can play as many games as Mr Ferguson!!!)

Can anyone tell me what u r supposed to do if u use any FFP type points you may gather??? Do you use them and put any winning into the pot also?

Once I start getting FPP points, I'll be saving them up for the stuff in the store. That Harley Night Train is looking mighty fine. And for only 4,000,000 points!

GL Ronald'. I look forward to following your progress. CF's accomplishment took alot of time and discipline. It's not for everyone and even he had to make several go's at it.

I read in one of his articles that once he reached $15 he knew that based on his strategy and playing style he would never go broke. Imagine that kind of confidene with just $15.

I'm sure you've read his rules for bankroll management.
  • Never buy into a cash game or a Sit & Go with more than 5 percent of your total bankroll (there is an exception for the lowest limits: You're allowed to buy into any game with a buy-in of $2.50 or less).
  • Never buy into a multi-table tournament for more than 2 percent of my total bankroll but you are allowed to buy into any multi-table tournament that costs $1.
  • If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent your total bankroll, you must leave the game when the blinds reach you.
If you've read my Chris Ferguson Profile you probably have a pretty good idea of how he plays, but here's a few tips that I've picked up in the over 1400 hands I've collected.
  • NEVER limp first in. ALWAYS open raise. If a hand is worth playing it's worth raising with. There's an obvious pot odds exception for the blinds.
  • NEVER cold call a raise. Fold or re-raise. Funny, Chris SAYS that he'll cold call a raise with a hand like AQ or AJ from the button, but I'm yet to see it happen.
  • DON'T play suited connectors from early position, even if you are opening the pot. EP = AJ or better.
  • DON'T play any pairs worse than 88 from EP or 66 from the button.
  • Look for favorable stealing opportunities, particularly from the button and small blind, but don't get carried away.
  • If you're VP$IP > 20% you're probably playing too loose. Obviously that stat is card dependent and could be higher or lower in any one session.
Good luck.

Ferguson's old news. ;) Try the Phil Hellmuth 0-11 in 18 years challenge. It's all the rage.

Very nice advice Fourdogs! :)

I'm on Stars attempting to gain 500 fps for a nice hat. That would make me happy. :) Let the points sit there if you wish. After you reach your 10k goal you'll probably have about 4 million points, and you'll be able to get something really nice for free! Free stuff, to me, is more exciting than the $10k. ;) That's alot of hard work either way. Good luck

GL with this!
I am also doing the same thing, check my sig. :)
I did however get a great head start. I finished 3rd in a bodog $500 freeroll and won $40, then in the same week i finished 19th in the cake poker $10,000 freeroll and won $60.
This month has been terrible for me. I have been losing big in cash games, my br always seems to go up to $350 then drop down to about $280. The way im running i dont think ill ever reach the $400 mark. :(

Good luck you guys I'm also doing the exact same thing lol. I love to start a bankroll from 0 because I can look at anything there and think of it as PURE PROFIT. They say there aren't very many full tilt players in the positive, lol but I can count myself as one of them!
I'm going by Chris Ferguson's exact rules EXCEPT for buying in to the smallest ring games and tourneys no matter the bankroll; I'm afraid I'm not as good a player as Chris, so I'm just going to buckle down and wait until I have at least $40 in freeroll winnings, so the $2 minimum buy-in will be 5%. This should be really fun, and I'm also GUARANTEED not to go broke!

Good luck again!

Good Luck!

You shouldn't have a problem if you use the right strategies and be disciplined. Plenty of people make this sort of money (and more!) playing poker online. I look forward to veiwing your progress.

Maybe I'll this on FT. I just won a whole $.027 in the last freeroll there, I suppose I could play the $.10 tournament or just wait until I win more in the next freeroll there.

That's my entire FT bankroll.
