I'm not talking about the big stack bullies. I'm talking about the verbally abusive bullies. I'm not here to whine that I'm being targeted bc I'm a woman. I want to know... You shield yourself from it, you block them out. But when you realize, they have in fact pushed that ONE button...... Walk away? Move to a new table? Keep playing? What's the worst you've been called by another player - live or online.

(BTW, online poker, I typically do not engage in chat. Sometimes, tho, I like to be social, engage in banter, etc. It's part of the game.)

Well, I'm Brazilian so any hand against a Canadian, English or Russian player comes with an offense. Specially when the Donkey calls my 4x raise pre flop with 56o or shoves back and I call the 42o with AA.. Then the bad words start raining!

Usually I don't mind but sometimes, I simply report and/or block them and try to be overagressive against them.. They're tilted and will probably want to hit my stack hard so.. with premium hands I will be overagressive and earn from it!

- Hope the U.S. players behave.
- SERIOUSLY! That's when a pen gets thrown at the screen here.
- With the exception of reporting them, I tend to just wait it out. Wait for my spot, etc. lol :) Every now and again there's that ONE player that goes for everyone verbally.

I used to work as a chat moderator for pokerstars. You would not believe the vile trash that many players come up with. No matter what you've personally been called to date, it could have been much, much, much worse. It has little to do with you being a woman, and everything to do with the seeming anonymity of the Internet.

Unless the game is so good that it doesn't make sense to leave, change tables. As you're racking your chips, let everyone know that you are taking all of the dead money - that could have been theirs - with you.

If, on the other hand, you are killing the game, you may have to develop a thicker skin. Good luck.

Cheers!

If they are really being abusive you should report them. They are probably doing it to other players as well and deserve to be chat banned.

That video with the bouncer is absolute gold!!! You think with the Kickboxing World Champ in the title he's going to kick the boy's ass, but, that is even better. Love it.

I always try to ignore them. Just the other day I'm playing a 6max sit n go and it's hyper turbo so we only start with 300 chips. With the blinds at 40/80 and I have about 320 chips a guy who's been talking trash to me and saying all kinds of abusive stuff jams in front of me with about 175. I have 88 so I call and he rolls over A10. I win the hand and for about the next 2 to 3 minutes he calls me stuff I would never repeat here. I didn't let it bother me because it's just over the Internet but I have never understood the blow ups on people. I thought I made a pretty decent call. If not will someone please tell me how I could've played differently as I am new to learning the math side of the game

Hey, I'm English and don't have and issues with players from any country, let alone make offensive comments!

The rudest thing I do is probably laughing at people when they make ridiculous donkey calls, but what do they expect?

People being offensive towards me doesn't bother me much, the only thing that annoys me is people continually stealing blinds/pots and when I've had enough I tell them straight out 'I'm going to catch you stealing'. They usually laugh or say 'ok', but then I wait for a monster starting hand, flat call and push over the top of their expected raise...

Good times

I have freerolls on SS was also conflict with the Romanian player. But I did not answer him. I made screenshots of the tournament and posted the chat moderators SS. More I have not seen this player in the freeroll.

Brazilians, Candians, Russians, Romanians, English people, I don t think we have to go by nation because everywhere you play there are people and people calling you this that, and instead what you can do simply block them and report.Simple as that. They will go crazy beacuse that thing that hurts them more it s the indifference and careless that u re feeling.

The bann from chat isn t really that helpful because after 24 hours,or 48 I don t really know they will be able to do just that again and again. It should be implemented the bann from chat for life. hhehehe :D

Agree with u there, Luci. Slap on the wrist, but what happens if they keep getting reported? They'll just create a new username - if they don't have several already. Ppl like that get off on all that. lol Sometimes, I'll just reply "Call your mother." Meaning, call your mother and tell her how you're treating people and what a what a wonderful child she raised. I can banter back, no problem. So far, "Call your mother" and "Thanks, Coach" really gets'em ticked! lol

Call your mother. Very clever. I use to say, Do you kiss your Mother with that mouth.
Anyway, this was a weakness I had, going off at a player because of a bad beat. I have been on the otherside of it and since changed the attitude I have at the tables. I still feel bad about the way I talked, but have also changed a lot of bad habits/attitudes throughout my whole personality.

Just ignore them, block them if ya can and take their chips when they lest expect it.

Yes, but I'm just a loud'n'proud kind of person. Equally so at live games! If my banter button is broke, some days, I just don't have that quick response or I can't quite shake it off.

Some days I may put people off, too. It's the kind of thing that one day you're the bullied, the next day you're the bully........

Good deal, BigJamo! Yea, I'll keep *trying* to ignore them. It's amazing how much energy can be taken away from the game. It's part of it.

I used to work as a chat moderator for PokerStars.

How did you get that job?

OT: If someone is abusing me in any way, I just mute them. If they are way over the line, such as unleashing a torrent of racist abuse in the chat, I report them - though, I've only ever done that 2 or 3 times.

Hi mezzodana. I hardly ever chat while playing, but I know a few players and we always say a hello and a few more lines, but that's because we want to stay focused on the game. But there is always one that likes to break another player's concentration and put him/her on tilt. I don't tilt very easy, so it's fun for me to go right back at them. and sometimes they tilt instead of me. And they don't like it at all when they are after one of my poker friends, and then he has 2 players after him. It don't take long for him to shut up. But I have never started it and never will. I don't see anything wrong with having a defense for anything it's needed for. We all use it every day for one thing or another. GL to you
