Hello everyone! This is my first post on CardsChat. I've played Poker for many years and just started playing online a month ago. Sadly I've running into many issues that never bothered me before! I do understand bankroll management and when to walk away, however online I get side track very easy!!!

I started off with a $50 deposit and turned that into over $170+ in one weekend of playing Sit N Goes, mainly HU. Then I went on tilt a bit and blew my bankroll to $20, worked that amount again back up to around low $100. While waiting for a HU match to start I clicked the blackjack tab!!! I made around $20 very quick by small betting, then as you know I started chasing the losses and killed my bankroll very quickly.

Is there any tips for avoiding this plauge? I'm a Poker Player and outside of this online thing, I would never dare bet money at Blackjack, slots, or anything else because you're bound to loose it all. I ended up getting side track, loosing my composure and going broke with my Poker Bankroll quickly!

The money doesn't matter to me because I never deposit money I'm attach to. If I'm alright with burning those bills, then I'm alright with putting them in my Poker account.

Any tips for avoiding the stupid casino games? I wont log on to Poker until I've gathered some better ways to manage what I do. I'm sure others have done stupid with their Poker bankrolls playing the online casino.

Thanks for any advice... I hope to never do this again! It wont be hard for me to build another Bankroll as I enjoy HU play, and usually win 70% according to my average on my spreadsheets.

Please feel free to share your stories as well!

I've been there...I just don't allow myself to click my way into Blackjack or any other Casino games. I've played a lot of live Black Jack where you can count cards and etc. You can't do this online as the deck is being shuffled after every hand. Just remember all these games you have no control over,,,it's about luck and the percentages being in the favor of the house,,,which means if you play long enough you're going to lose no matter what. At least in poker there is skill and decisions that you can control. Remember "You Can't Win" !!!

Thanks, I know I wont be clicking that button again... Who knew a few dollars at Blackjack would drain my whole bankroll! Oh well, just put $50 back, and I'm off to play Sit N Goes once again. :)

Dude, Blackjack is specifically designed for losers, Don't be a loser,

Don't play those stupid games. The odds are arranged specifically to make you loose.

Don't be that guy.

There is no magic bullet to stop you , just think of those big casino's and remember they built them with money from games slanted in their favor and blackjack is one of those games.

No doubt, the light bill isn't paid with magic dollars, but those that loose. I would never play anything but Poker live, it's just online I made a stupid mistake... Heck, I don't even play lottery or scratch cards.

lol. I made a post like this a month or so back were I'd blown a bankroll I'd built from freerolls on blackjack. If your on a site that allows you to have the blackjack button turned off or removed from sight do it lol.

I play on party poker, haha so I don't know if I can turn it off, but you see the dang button every window. I haven't touched it yet! I think I learned my lesson. ;)

I remember a post that a guy made 2k from like $20 by playing Blackjack and lost it all! That sucks!
