I have deposited $50 this week, and the plan was that every $50 i make (i play cash games) i withdraw it from the account and continue with the starting $50.

Currently im up $40, so i am soon to follow through with my plan, although as i near closer im thinking if it is the right choice after all? Because the more money i keep in the account the bigger the cushion i have, but also the longer i keep it there the more im concerned i could have a bad night and lose a bunch of it.

Should i stick with my plan of taking $50 every +50 or just let it pile up in the account.

Also to note, i do need money in my outside life, so it does help =]

you will be hard pressed to find a site that you can cash out $50 at a time, merge network and cake network have $500 minimum cash out

depending on currency conversion and method of withdraw you might get slammed with fees and stuff.

That 50 you withdraw might be 25 by the time you get it.

So research it before you try it.

Even if you can withdraw easily, cashing out can mean two things. One is withdrawing from a site but leaving the money in your bankroll. The other is taking it out of your roll entirely to use for whatever else. In the latter case, cashing out every time you're up $50 means you can't move up, at least not while practicing reasonable BRM.

Id consider drawing out the first time when you reach your goal. That way in a sense you are playing for free then. But after that I believe I would try to build. Give yourself more of a buffer not to mention if you would like to eventually move up in stakes. Good luck

It's important to keep your life roll separate from your poker roll. If your goal is to actually improve poker, I suggest maybe setting a goal of 1K, then withdrawing half of that. This forces you to actually try to improve while giving you a nice reward too.

Also, if you have a good rakeback deal, then your winnings plus rakeback will be a very nice bonus for working so hard towards your goal.

Study the game, Improve. Profit. Good luck at the tables mate.

Fwiw, I started with a $150 roll. I withdrew that $150 (took it out of my poker funds) when my roll hit $500 a few months later. It was primarily a symbolic gesture so that I was now only playing with my winnings, and with no chance of ever going into the red overall.

That's the smallest withdrawal I've ever made from my roll by more than an order of magnitude. Since then, I withdraw from my roll when I have a specific purpose for the money or when it simply gets larger than my self-imposed cap.

Don't you want to move up? If you need the money, or could use it, I would say maybe don't play poker at all if you aren't good enough to beat above 2nl. If you are good or want to improve and get good, then you should try to progress through levels and grow your roll. At least get to 10nl before you start withdrawing every month.

This ^ is 100% not correct!!!

If you look at what site OP plays at (in upper right of their posts) it says '888Poker'. I'd assume that he's obviously not from U.S.
Your answers might be correct for US players but there are many, many more sites out there that the rest of the world is playing on (hundreds) & I don't know of any where you can't cash out $50.

OP, 'it depends'. It depends on what your goals are (ie. if you plan on moving up in buyin levels then $50 is obviously not going to be enough to cover the number of buyins you'll need ). $50 is fine if you're playing the lowest limits (ie. 2nl or maybe 5nl). Maybe wait til' you hit $100, then pull off $50 each time you're $50 above the $100.

I know cake do minimum of $50.00

Merge do not. I withdrew money I "won" ($60.00) and that was only about 2 weeks ago.

Its better cashing out 50% of profits that all of them. Generally I would cash out once I was up $500, cashing out $250 and adding €250 to my roll so that i can move up.

What's your current stake?
Do you wish to move up?

I used to just withdraw my rakeback. Meant I was getting a steady variance free £x/hour I could count on seeing every month without fail.

Cashout at Cake Poker

I requested the minimum cashout of $500 at Cake Power about a couple of months ago and was told there would be a slight delay. I'm still waiting.

888 has a good withdraw system takes about a week and you can cash out atleast $100 a week, every week. Do what ever as long as your not going to loose your BR.

from what I see 3 months might be good

Best idea at the moment is 2+2 Trading Thread and just lose the Vig (think of it as processing fee). Same option for Merge sites not named Lock

Using skrill [old Moneybookers] I can withdraw min $10 from most sites I play and I play a lot. Its separate from my bank account so my lass doesn't get her hands on it, very important BRM is that ;-)
