I'm sure there are many threads around for this discussion but i have yet to find one to answer this question. Here goes...
When i play live cash games i seem to do better than playing online BUT when it comes to MTT and STT i seem to do better online than live.Any reasons that happens?

Standard poker varience seems the most logical of reasons.

I mean; what sort of sample sizes are we talking here?

I have been playing poker on and off for years but never took it "serious" so i never kept records of my play time.Only lately since i have been out of work i took up trying to grind out FR and then move on to higher lvls.I do understand BRM(having been a pari mutual pro years ago)so i know given my BR now i cant go any higher than micro_Over the summer i was at a casino and played 2/5nl and fared better than i would have hoped.I'm not as technical as some(ok all) of the folks here.So my sample size for live comes off of 8 hrs live as opposed to 10x on OL cash games.
The problem i seem to have online in cash games is that people seem to play the program and play little suited connectors knowing they fare well against most hands online
I dont see the same play in live games hitting as often.
Also OL as of right now i dont run a HUD or pokertracker. After reading several posts here about the subject i might give it a whirl.

You just answered your own question frigidbtch. Any form of software will help you keep track of your game immensely. After each session, take a look at exactly what your opponents as well as yourself are doing in each situation.

After loading PT i noticed i have a 63.94 ROI in STT 's. It sounds good but i am playing at the lowest STT lvl they offer at ACR.I'm thinking of staying away from the cash games until my BR can take the ups and downs that come with my cash play.

Probably just small sample size on both counts. 63% ROI is crazy high on STTs for what it's worth, even at the lowest levels.

One thing to consider is that the structures of the online tournaments are almost certainly better than the live ones you're playing in (ie: you'll be seeing a lot more hands per blind level), so if you're a good player you're maybe getting more of a chance for your skill to prevail in the online games. If you're good at turbos and you're making good push-fold decisions it's probably not making a huge difference.

Makes more sense then. So you know, you need to play a few thousand STTs for your ROI to start to normalise.
