Last year I started the year with $100 in my bodog Account. I grinded up to $1,600 over the year. This January I cashed it all out but $100. Ever since then it seems like I've had nothing but bad luck. I've went from $100 to $25 in a month. Do you think it's I'm having trouble being patient now that I've gone back to the cheap tables, or just a run of bad luck that we all go through or does it seems like this happens alot after you cash out a substantial amount?

What limits are you playing with the $100?

Unfortunately it looks like the site in question done what us semi-serious internet players refer to as "Doom-switched" you, it tends to happen after cashing out as you described. Occasionally it will also happen after a big tourney win, or whenever you move in limits.

I'd suggest that you email the site and ask them to turn off the DOOM-SWITCH and turn on the BOOM-SWITCH. You should be back to winning in no time.

When you had $1600 in your account, a $75 swing probably didn't seem like a lot, right?

Don't listen to tenbob a simple email asking for the Boom-switch never works. What you're going to want to do is get yourself a lamb and shear it. After spinning the wool into yarn you're going to have to use it to weave a shawl. Mail the shawl along with a check for $100 to Calvin Arye. He'll be touched by your genuine gift and you'll be boom-switched for 1 year (or until your next cash-out). Each year thereafter (or after every cash-out) you'll only need to send the $100 and a note on how much your little lamb has grown to continue your good fortune.

I know this sounds like a lot of work but I finally broke down and did it after spending 3 months looking for a damn leprechaun to no avail. It's been working for me thus far and I have a new little lamb friend to boot. Win-Win.

But in all seriousness it's probably regression to the mean. Most cash-outs probably come at the end of a good streak. You've got to run bad sometime, and after a hot streak, winning slowly may seem like you're doing bad and hurt your play even more while getting frustrated. Similar to the "Madden curse". Of course when you take the guy who had the best season of his career last year, do you expect them to remain on that level? It's like flipping 20 coins 20 times each. The one that comes up heads 15 times you think is on a heads roll and then are dissapointed when it comes up 50-50 the next 20 flips. Obviously this is a little different because you said now you're losing rather than simply winning at a lower rate, but you're going to have hot streaks and you're going to have cold streaks. The cold streak was going to come sooner or later.
