about to make another deposit of FT, already have a large BR, but i wanna add a little extra "insurance money" if their is such a thing.

Anyways i was wondering if it's actually better to keep doing the 90 or 180 player SnG's, or is it better to do the cash and ring games? i personally seem to do much better at the SnG's, lot better change you will take part in the placing of the money. Especially if your playing the heads up matches or the 6 - 9 player SnG, where it pays out the top 2 or 3.

This brings up another question, is it a good idea to play heads up on FT? are there alot of donks or is this a good thing to partake in to get money, i mean the way i see it you got a 50/50 shot of winning right?

I have always read that ring games were better money then MTTs, but I really think it depends on what works for you. I can run very well and maintain a nice BR playing STTs all day but my ring game skill is lacking and I usually do not fair as well. Perhaps you could grab PT3 and track your play for a while and then use that to make a more informed decision on what is better value for ya.

As for playing heads up on FT I can only offer advice on the low limit games (~5-10NL) and I would say it is just as fishy as the 10NL MTTs or whatnot.

Just my 0.02

Cheers

I much prefer to play cash but am way better at SnG's so what I normally do is make much profit on SnG's and then throw it away on cash games. What am I actually hoping for is a site where you can ban yourself from playing cash and just be able to play SnG's.

I play cash and i'm turning a very nice profit, unfortunately i like to play touneys and have managed to blow the lot as i'm not running very well atm. It's like an addiction that i have to play cash to feed :)

Stick to what you're good at, what makes you the money.

ring games are sweet cause you can analyze hands easier, since blinds are always the same and stuff, way more straight forward
give it a shot

if you good at MTT like rebuys .. theres big money there with little risk... cash games also have a lot of money (a lot faster) but theres still the risk of a losing streak... 2 ... 90% hands in 30 minutes hurts even if your a tigth player.. if your good at the mmt sit and goes and dont get bored.. i would go with the that because your risking less to win just as much... just takes more time

I say stick to what your best at but I've had better success on ring games. From what I've read SnG's tend to require more luck whereas with ring games you can afford to be a little more patient.

Cash games are harder to master. Stating the obvious but it really is a totally different game. If you don't have much experience at cash, then I recommend you do some serious research and start at a comfortable level. Plenty of info out there.

You get used to TPTK being the nuts in tournaments when the blinds are big compared to the stack sizes. In cash games you have to be able to let these hands go, or you will lose your money quickly.

Personally I prefer cash, playing MTT's a few times a week. The advantage of Cash games is you don't have to set a lot of hours to one side to play. You can just play an hour or so here and there.

I personally think sngs is a great place to get experiance at poker. They play like a short MTT and you have to learn to constantly weigh blinds vs chip stacks. You will also need to be able to change speeds, tight in beginning when blinds are low to hyper aggressive as the blinds become a big % of your stack. If you get good at sngs, you then always have a place to rebuild your bankroll when troubled times hit.

My biggest advice is for now stick to what your good at. I personally think you should really try and get to the point where you can profit at both. Personally i am a cash game player but when i started i played nothing but tourneys. I started to get bored with them and tried to play cash games but seem to always lose my money there. That i started to read up on just strictly cash play and slow saw that you must play cash game a little different that tourney. Its very close but with a few changes here and there to fit the cash game style. So i would just learn how to play tourneys very well and slowly start taking stabs at the cash game. Once you first start if you lose a buy in the cash game just go back to tourneys and take another stab again at another time. If that makes sense. Aesop

I dont no what play is for good for you. Why?
SnG is tournament play ring game CG game different same play structure.
SNG if you last 2 player HeadsUp play this is other situation.
I play CG but not ring just 6 max and play SnG--and now play big MTT.:)
You play 60% CG, 40% SnG.

I play HU cash and I don't think I could do any better anywhere else. If you were going to do SnGs, I would multitable them

Stay with what your good at.

Cash or Tourney
Most players become one or the other.

It's hard to be a Great Tourney Player and a Great Cash player at the same time.

Pick your game.

Why do you play: Profit only or Enjoyment and Profit
When do you feel the Rush: Cash wins or Tournament wins
What style are you Best at: Cash or Tournament

Define your Goal and Stick with it.

heads up hand down

Heads up BABY!!!:icon_sant
you may loose at first but the heads up players are easy too track and keep notes on. I usually play a certain buy in on one table and keep notes on two other tables. this way I can track 5 other players and evaluate there tech. I pick individuals that seem loose then I use my other account or my wifes account too clean em out. Have spent three years building up my notes and my bank rolls, it's like insider trading on the stock market! Also heads-up is where you want too get in all the tourney's anyway! it's like golf "the game is won on the greens" you can be bad off the tee, lucky out of the traps, and medioker on your chips. But if you can put like a pro you got it made!

I definately think it depends on the player. I mainly play the sit n goes because the risk is constant. the most you can lose is what you buy in for. True the winnings aren't as good but i like knowing that im not gonna lose my account in an hour. especially on FT. I lost count of the bad beats. if you dont mind taking risks id play the cash games. if your playing to make money and not for fun definately the cash games. Im stayin at the sit n goes for now though... safer.

sit-n-go

you are told to build up your bankroll from a small one is to play in sit-n-go tournys but i have tried and tried but only able to play in the small ones so run into a lot of donks who go allin with 76,45 etc. and get lucky on flop so you get knocked out and have to play in more freeroll to get that .50 or .65 to play again.

I always seem to get creamed in cash games and am much better at sit n gos. I find sit n gos are more enjoyable and interesting to play as well so I say just play them.

i like sit an gos better because they are more basic, if you double up there is a good chance you make the money, and in the long run if you play well you should build your bankroll. This is as long as you don't go on a really bad run and keep getting unlucky.

I prefer to play tournaments, because I think it's easier to create a good bankroll, Sit & Go is more complicated to play, and tournament play because some common, others come in to sit & go box and guarantee something and start only after the risk ITM to enter, but against this is good to play, the problem is that those who do not always have it and not pay so bizarre hands.

The Heads-Ups on full tilt in the lowest stakes are easy to win .

You can easily win about 75 % of the matches if you play with patience.

I've won one day 20 time in a row against the same player in HU on FT,he went all in every hand. I was so happy lol :D

I've been grinding the cash games and built my BR pretty high. Lately though I've been hooked on SnGs and have been doing pretty well. I'm doing just a little better than breaking even though so I think the cash games are where the...cash is.

I have been enjoying playing SnG's the most but I think you should just play what you enjoy to play and of course, what gets you the cash.
