For me tournament it is better because in normal games players often change and it isn't possible to study all

I'm a winning NL25 and NL10 cash game regular. I have some friends that have recently scored big paydays at tournaments, so that's got me into playing tournaments the last few months. I continue to grind away at cash games and take a part of my profits and try to score big at tournaments, but my biggest cash is 150$, which is downright pathetic (I don't play that many tournaments though, an average of 5-6 per day). I really suck strategy-wise when I'm at 25BB or under. I feel so comfortable and I know the dynamics by heart at cash games, but at tournaments I either finish getting a horrible bad beat, lose a coinflip or simply shove with an under 10BB stack with bad cards and get busted (it's so frustrating especially after you play a few hours into them and score a measly 20$). I haven't lost my hope for a 4 figure payday at a tournament though, but I really hate them (at least for now) :)

I think I prefer the $300 cash table over MTT.
With MTT, you are pretty much guaranteed to not win.
With cash table, you can be up, down, or break even at any time.
I like those odds much better. Esp. if you know how to quit while ahead.

I went this weekend and had a nice time.
There are hotels about 15 mins away that are 80-$100/night.

I played in the $80 MTT Sat. night.
I lasted about 2 hours until level 6.
Got busted out by someone who hit a set on runner/runner!

I played another MTT the next morning for $60.
Busted out pretty quickly. A few bad beats and you're done.
I used the "start to think shove at 20BB" mentality.

I also played $200 worth of a cash game, was down to $75,
but then walked away with $400+ after a large hand where I made a good call.
So, I covered both my MTT fees and filled up my gas tank.

Playing live sure is different. It seems to play faster. And if the dealer is sloppy, sometimes, you don't immed. know it's your turn.

Another key difference is that you don't know how much is in the pot. Live, you need to start tracking about how much is in there for value bets and calling .

I had a nice time, but don't plan to visit too often with the 2.5 hour drive. If there was a local casino, I think I'd play live from time to time. Probably for the best, as gambling is a sick sick vice that can truly F with you.

I play 98% MTT, I try cash every now and then, but, I suck at it so I tend to stay away from those games.

If I had more time to dedicate, I would absolutely learn more about cash games. as I think there is more money to be had there.

I'd play cash if I could just to get away from the tilt those ridiculous stallers put me on. Still can't think of a legitimate reason anyone would stall from start to finish in a tourney except to tilt people. Well it works, but I just stall back. And if I notice they're decent and win a bit, I start educating the rest of the table about HUDs and other poker tools in hopes they really won't like that.

I mostly play cash games at smaller stakes but love getting into any tournament that i can afford and that offers a reaseonable payout for the buy in. I dont play many online tournaments i seem to fair better in live ones.

I started to like sit and goes a bit more than cash games. I don't like bigger MTTs though. I never seem to do any good in those. I almost made one final table once but that is my biggest accomplishment and that was a free roll.

I like the MTT for the prize, is large compared with the input. but the tables have that adrenaline from the start. MTT game when I have time!

I love playing in MTT for the large prizes but it sure can be disappointing more often than not! seems like there is more luck involved in tourneys and you play for hours only to get bubbled!!! I hate that aspect of MTT. on the plus side you can only lose your initial buy in, compared to cash you can lose your entire BR.

I prefer MTT, but I'm determined to learn to like cash games to benefit me in deep-stacked MTTs. No way around it.

MTTs are more fun in my eyes. More variance, but also more cash at the end!

I like MTTs more, but you have to stay focused and in control for long period of time and when you get kicked out after few hours of play it sucks .... Though if it works out you can get quite a lot of money in exchange for low buy in which is great. I'm playing more cash these days because I don't have bankroll for MTTs. But I agree it can get kind of boring

I also prefer to play MTT or SNG. Cash is not for me, you have to be there even more patience than in the MTT.
