OK heres what happens. I have no way to get money into my account at Stars so I play the Hubble freeroll, get into the weekend, and walk away with $1.60. Eliminated when I shove with 77 vs a donk's A2. Of course I'm not too happy, but I wasn't doing very well in chips anyway so I walk away with the money in a relatively good mood, then take $1 to a $.01/$.02 cash table. I play quite aggressively there, take down most pots, most on bluffs, but a few I had real hands in, and all is going well, I'm up to about $2.30. Then disaster hits, and before I know it, I'm out, thanks to hands where I actually got something, and at least one case probably got outdrawn (probably two, cause i folded, can never be sure), another rivered, and another outkicked on trips. So I lost a dollar at a table of passive "fish" type players when executing my agressive style fairly well (at least I feel I was playing well enough).

Here's the graph of profit:
graphpb0.jpg

Here's my stats in the session:
VP$IP: 63.64
PFR: 40.26
W$WSF: 52.08
WTSD: 18.75
W$SD: 22.22
AF: 3.83
AFq: 62.16
3Bet: 5.88
Fold 3B: 40.00
Att To Steal: 75.00
Fold BB to Steal: 50.00
Fold SB to Steal: 0.00

It seems from the numbers like I was playing somewhat like a maniac, but it wasn't the bluffs that killed me, it was my good hands (2pair 3 times, and trip once), so I'm not sure if I would want to become tighter at least at this table. When I did get my hands, I was playing off my aggressive loose image, and was able to get the pots big, but not take any of them down. Seem more like a run of bad luck (only 77 hands), or bad play, and what particular aspect of my game seems the weakest based on my stats?

Also, I would like to give this another go, but only have $.60 left, and need a full dollar to sit down, so I'll try to work it up off $.10 sitngos unless some good soul will send me $.40 ;) No, I'm not asking for transfer of funds although if someone wouldnt mind sparing that, I wouldnt complain lol

Since your starting with freeroll winings and there limited i whould recament just useing "hit and run" at the cash tables sit down with 1$ and when u win a pot just take the money and sit at another table with 1$.
Its going take long and be boring but might work. But obvs. there is allways a big chance of going broke from such a small BR.
U might also just whant to grind at the freeroll until u get a litle bigger and then move to the ring tables.

Good luck hope the grinding pays off!

You can't take $1.60 to a NL table and expect to do well. It just won't work.

A good player has to be prepared to lose up to 10 buy-ins on one bad streak. One buy-in isn't even a bad streak, it's a blip.

With less than $10, the only thing I can recommend is the .10 cent, MTT sit-n-goes Stars offers. If you are remotely decent at MTTs, these aren't hard at all.

With only .60 cents, there's still a chance you'll bust, but it's your only shot.

And when you sit down at a .02 table for half a buyin, you certainly can't be bluffing. That's horrible strategy.

Everything Sindri said. I prefer the .25 tourney $100 added for very low bankroll. In the .10 you have to finish top 10% just to get buyin back. In the .25 ITM payout starts at 2x buyin because of money added. I think I've cashed almost 2/3 of them and there is a shot at a real payday. Almost inevitable to go bust in ring when you're so low.

This is an insanely bad attitude, you shouldn't put a time frame on making money. You want to be at a stage where you don't even check that cashier to see how much you have. You just play poker since if your a good player, you will win money in the long run. I havn't looked at my bankroll for about a week and a half since i know i'm playing good poker and are making the right decisions, so i don't need to look to see how much money i have since it's kinds irrelevant if you know what i mean

You should quit poker, to be honest, if this is your attitude. You will not be good at it.

I'm not. I want you to do well at whatever you do, and I don't want you to frustrate yourself at something you won't be good at in the long run.

The *best* case will be for you to change your attitude, and then you can be a great poker player. But if you don't, you won't.

We've all seen players with your attitude a million times. They are impatient, they think that tourney they won awhile back proves they are good, and they don't understand why they keep busting out to all those "donks."

Poker isn't just about cards and bluffs, it is about risk management. When you just want to "make quick money," you aren't managing your risk properly and you will bust out time and time and time again (as you are already noticing).

There are *no* poker players on this planet good enough to sit down with less than a buy-in and turn it into real money. You might as well just play blackjack or roullette.

Take our advice and play the .10 tourneys and you *might* make the money last long enough to do something cool with. Otherwise, you have almost no chance whatsoever even if you are some kind of magical poker prodigy.

I like how everyone who beat you was a fish. I understand this is a frustrating game but don't blame everyone else. I think you don't appreciate how random (how much variance) poker is and that is your problem. It sounds like you push too much when you miss the flop and overplay top pair. BTW 77 games played is not very much to build a track record on. My database showed a median profit over 3,000 hands before I blew up.

PokerTracker has a free 60 day trial. Do some research before you insult someone for no reason.

My apologies... I will be friendly from now on. Ihatecowboys >> As your new friend.. I would highly recommend you get a job... it will make you a LOT more money than poker will at this rate. Then when you can save some money, deposit more because if you're trying to learn the game... playing $1 S&Gs will do as much as playing with play money. I would try to deposit $40 or so and play the $.25 / .50 S&Gs...

And good luck! :)

Why did I spend my time reading this thread? It said Cash Game Help. I thought you seriously needed some help with your cash game and I could learn something as well. This is not a cash game help question its a life help question. The Professor is right. Find a way to start off better. This is the 21st Century in America. If you cant get a couple of bucks to start you off to good poker playing then you need help with your life.
