Hi all,

I
am starting a thread HERE for sharing the names of poker books. It's simple, you just write a post with the name of a book and how it helped you. Then tell us what book you are going to read next and why. It's my hope this thread will help everyone find new books they may have never even heard of. Let's share good practice!

Here's a template for your first book post (COPY/PASTE): :wavey: (I've done a simple one to start, but you can make your posts as detailed as you like. Thanks. R

Name of book:
Why I read it:
How it helped me:
What book I am going to read next:

Name of book: The Theory of Poker - David Sklansky
Why I read it: It's widely known for being the main textbook of Poker Theory.
How it helped me: It's a great read for beginners who want to begin thinking like a professional player.
A book I want to read next: Poker Math That Matters - Owen Gaines
Why I am going to read it: Gaines' book is an excellent text for learning how to do essential Poker math quickly at the tables.

Hello.
I read Ed Miller's book Texas Hold'em for Beginners.
I also plan to read the book of Jared Tendler's "Poker: The Game of the Mind"
Good luck.

Thank you for the post. Very valuable information. And I recently in one of posts unsubscribed, that here there is no literature on poker. And she's here all you want.

Hello Ragequit,
I like the thread, the last poker book I read was a bit of a disappointment so I am going to pick one from the past that I am going to revisit. I went online to reserve it at the library and I will pick it up tomorrow.

Name of book: A forgettable book about poker math that I bought online that turned out to be a pamphlet of little use with no new insights.
Why I read it: always researching
How it helped me: it made me realize that you get what you pay for and a $0.99 bargain book is cheap for a reason
What book I am going to read next: Harrington on Hold 'Em
Why I am going to read it: going to re-read it to reinforce what I absorbed the first reading and to see if I can find some things I missed the first time.

Good luck to you,
Brian
