I just read that they have introduced caps or limits on stakes regarding NLHE in Vegas? Considering we're already losing people like Torelli to Macau for the 1m BI game, is this really in the player's best interest if it is true? And is it even true?

two things:

1. If you consider pokerstars model of business in not catering to the high limit players anymore as a good thing - which I do, because high limit players bring in the same amount of money as lower limit players - then its good - why should they get more benefits? They do nothing but actually squelch the game by enticing lower limit players to play higher limits, and WHEN they lose they sometimes do not go back down because they bottomed out their roll. In the long run, getting rid of high limits is actually better for the longevity of the game.

2. I have never heard of this - tell us where you read it and we can tell you if it is true, I have texts out to my friends that floor in Vegas and should have an answer soon, and I would think the wiley CC writers would have already caught wind of this if it were true.

However, if casinos are just doing this on their own, I can understand why, so some may be doing this, but i can not imagine places like Bellagio and Aria would just do it without a fight. Are you saying this is a law?

My bad, looks like i read it wrong from a Facebook post from a LV cash grinder (pro) that I'm friends with. They were talking about the "cap" as in the max buyin for a live cash game. In the example it was a 2/5 capped at 500. Pretty standard. I HAD heard elsewhere before (that I can't seem to find now) that cash games were being limited.

Oh well, mods you can delete this thread
