Ive seen that on a 109$ tournament on pokerstars. The button raise all in to steal blinds , the sb fold and the bb call with pocket 2s. They went to a showdown , the button had jack 7 and won the hand ..... Here is my question.
Why would you call an all in with pocket 2s , even if you know he's bluffin since its a coinflip ?

Stack and blinds sizes would be my guess.

I don't know about Tilt but on bodog if you play enough you can sometimes see a pattern if you will. for the most part if you have 7 of say 9 people in a hand pre flop it would be a safe bet to say those other 6 all have eithor pocket pairs or high face cards so the chances of another 2 popping up are pretty good. Just my opinion of course

Yeah, if he's pretty sure it's a steal with nothing (ie. not a PP) then out of the BB the pot odds could warrant a call when blinds are big enough.

Or just poor play...

It is one of two things.

1. It is strategic. He was in a position where a pocket pair of any kind was worth an all in. See WVHillbilly's post.

2. He is a dumbass. Either he doesn;t know better, or he likes to gamble.

That said... Under the right circumstances pocket twos is not a terrible hand.

Depends on the stack sizes, if the all in is from a short stack and blinds are high it's probably worth a call if he's got him easily covered. If stacks are relatively deep you should pretty much always fold even if he's shoving atc, because of tournament odds. The only hands you could call for a profit in that situation would be X2 where you have him dominated, and there's no way of knowing that.

The only hand that I put All in pre flop is AA.

But sometimes with this strong hand is possible lost.

Yesterday playing our CC Freeroll at the Fulltilt I had AA, was the 7 or 8 hand played I bet raise "All in" 1.5K on WTG, one guy paid with 89 no suited and won with str8.

Can be crazy:bird::bird: but i don't like to play with AA.

It makes you wonder

What sort of stack was it for? was he short stacked? what were the blinds? I think its a bad play but when you know its a steal...you can only hope it misses. Although i dont like them odds

pot odds. If you have already invested 500 and it's only another 1000 to call and he's pushing with ATC that's an easy call.

Were you playing a $109 tourney? If not it's kinda irrelevant to this thread.

...Really? So, if you had KK vs an all in and you're getting say 3:1 on your money to call, you'd fold here?

...Wait, so you don't like to go in with AA PF?

Yeah, it was odds. He was getting freeroll:1 on his money to call.

To answer OP's question: it would depend on stack sizes and blinds at this point. I would go all in with 22/call an all in I thought I had a slight edge, stacks were short, blinds were big, etc. It sounds like it was a bad idea to do from your post, but it could've easily have been justified if we knew more about the hand.
