Hi. I'm BadKarma and I'm a chipaholic.

I'm new to this board, but I've been a chipaholic for 8 years now. I have a poker table in my house and "several" sets of chips.

Tourny set of Faux Clays---2300+
Cash set of Nevada Jacks Skulls---380
Small cash set of NexGen Pro Classics---350
Cash set of New China Clay Pharaohs---300 and growing to 650.

I also have 8 decks of Modiano plastic cards.

This is a pic of my table and 2300+ of the Faux Clays.

I was just wondering if there were any other home gamers and fellow chipaholics?

Can't have just one set.

ps I also have a start on a casino chip collection. (I'm very very sick!!)

Hey, as you may remember from your intro thread :) , I too am a chip fan. Wife keeps me from being a chipaholic. She says chips in moderation are fine but binge buying is frowned upon.

I have ~3K Faux Clays, a custom cash set (samples coming your way soon), and a myriad of sample sets.

My poker group almost always play cash nowadays (1/2 nl) and we bring in a few locals (usually young females :) ) who deal for tips (yes we're too damn old and lazy to pass the deal anymore). I have a 1 year old so I don't get out to play nearly as much as I'd like but the game runs weekly and occasionally twice a week.

Oh yeah, almost forgot my favorite chip:

Fun chip to throw at the table idiot when he starts whining about a bad beat.

Doubt you can. They were done as a group buy on a poker table building forum I used to frequent. I have 10 of them. Since you're an old timer who only occasionally crawls out out of the bushes, send me a PM with your address and I'll send you 1.

That chip is awesome!

Every live game should have one of those.
My monthly game is about to bounce a regular player because he won't STFU and is getting on everyone's nerves.

I think he has played his last game with us.

WOW!!! I'm glad we got a big response to this thread. I hit my post limit and had to take a break. I forgot to mention I also have 100 "Dice" plaques to cover the really big denominations.

WV, I remember that GB for the STFU button, I missed it by a week. I'm jumping in for a couple "Custom" Pharaoh buttons. But those STFU are really cool.

I have to admit that I'm the "King" of the cheap chip, but I will not own a chip with a metal slug. But with some careful research and digging you can find an inexpensive chip that will make a great set. And tables are very easy to build too.

Welcome fellow chipaholics to the Brotherhood!!!!!!

My STFU chips are actually chip size (pretty sure they're on Sunfly ceramic blanks as well), not really a button. Pretty sure they did a gb for buttons too so I wanted to be clear

LOL that chips is awesome!

I love chips as well but my set isn't that good, I would love to get a real nice set eventually. I also made my own poker table for outside in my patio but want to but a really nice one as well. I really like the OP's table though, very modern looking.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple of square yards of green felt and an eye kit for under $15. Then bought from my local Army Surplus/Outdoor Gear shop about 8 feet of some 1/8" bungee. Makes a great portable felt to pop on any table...

My table is kinda portable, the top was made from a 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" marine plywood. It sets snugly on top of a 6'x3' buffet style table. But my portable setup is a 6'x3' sheet of the same stuff your mouse pad is made of. It rolls up and has it's own case. Chips get a bit more bounce, but it works out very well.

I've been toying with the idea of making myself a round table and selling my square one. Less space sacrificed.

I have a cheapo pool table with the ping pong top. Any suggestions how I could retrofit it as a card table?

Put a plastic tablecloth over it so the spilled drinks don't ruin the felt, then put a portable poker tabletop over it. One of the pub leagues I go to does this - It's not very comfortable - there's no leg room under the table and the players on the end have to stand up and stretch in order to deal, but it works well enough. At least there's plenty of elbow room, unlike those little round tabletops that some other leagues use.
