I was at Stars in this MTT sitting in 20th out of 567. I had about 8,500 chips and the BB was only $30. I was dealt Q3os and in mid position. I called the BB and flopped 33Q. For 10 minuets after this hand ended I took a cursing from the idiot that had AK and didn't raise pre-flop. My question for you is: Would you call this a suck-out? and Do you call to see action when it is cheap and you can afford it? Was this sorry loser right for bitching at me for 10 minuets?:)

No, I wouldn't call getting lucky and flopping a boat a suck-out. I consider sucking out to be chasing with nothing (or a tenuous draw), then finally making a hand on the river.

That's exactly why it's a good idea to raise preflop with a good hand. If he'd correctly done that, he'd have likely driven you out, won the pot, and lost the opportunity to bitch.

That's what I thought too. I would not have called if he would've raised up.

With your stack, I'd be making those limps with marginal hands to see the flop
for cheap, probably not with Q3 though.
This isn't a suckout, you just got lucky by seeing the flop cheap and hit!
He's being a donk - with AK he should have raised to push out the limpers, and take the pot down, or get it heads up with another solid hand.
Kinda funny that he got mad at you lol :p
how'd you place in the tourney?

You were only about a 40/60 dog preflop and he was needing runner runner AA or KK to win after the flop. If he beat you, then he was the one who sucked out. How much money did you win from him?

I hate donkeys that think their AA, KK and AK deserve to win everytime no matter how they play them. You beat him like a rented mule and he got exactly what he deserved.

My motto, "Play like crap and you will get beat by it."

I'm gonna quote you on this in every bad beat thread i read about in the future :)
I hate when people complain about how QK beat their AJ when they played it like the donks they are

Yes, I call to see action if it's cheap, sometimes with hands I'd never admit to playing (unless of course I hit the flop strong)
You can't win if all you play are top 10 starting hands. The operative word here is "cheap" which is why like Roundcat, Chuck, and Titan said....he left himself unprotected by not raising pre-flop.
No way should he be complaining and it certainly was not a suck out.

I think you did fine. His fault for not bumping it up. I would have never called with that if he had raised. But glad you got him. Sometimes its cards like those that completely turn your tourney around, cause who expects you to hold garbage in your hand at that point and whamooo you win and win huge.

LOL sounds like the Donk that got pissed cause I busted his AA's the same way.. UTG he raises once.. 3 others call.. It was cheap for me to see with my 8,9 with a decent stack I had at the CO. I had an open ended straight draw and he made a half pot bet. I thought why not see this.. sob called it a bad beat, ranted and raved of why I called that. I said its not my fault you only put in 1 raise and had 5 of us call you. This is NL MTT by the way.. His reasoning was he was hoping someone would come over the top with a re-raise but we all just called.

LOL if you lose with a premium hand cause you let others limp in. Nothing but your own fault you lost cause you didn't raise pre-flop with it.

Ya he was a total donk for not raising preflop . But calling with Q3 is asking for trouble. Ok you did hit a monster. But what happens if you hit a queen, you have no kicker to back it up, and will inevitably be donking away chips. In the long run poor play IMO. A call with q 10 /9 would be ok but not q3 me thinks.

Ask him the last time he saw a multiway pot taken down by Ace High? I'd have had a field day with the Jerk!

No, I wouldn't of played this hand normally. It's not a suckout though. You had a nice flop, but you didn't river him! I am certain we have all had the "lucky" flops like those. These hands that we don't play often are great for deception. In the chat box you need to tell him that Q-3 is not that bad of a hand and that you would of played it for a raise anyway. Doing this will make people take notes on you! I was in the BB last night with J-10. I was playing tight, and it got raised. I decided to call. I hit a A high str8 and the guy who raised pre hit trip A's. When the hand was over he told me to "die". I told him I thought J-10 was a great starting hand. Now, if you play junk "all the time" this won't work. But I consider myself "tight" so when I get "lucky" I take advantage of some deception in the chat box!!!

Sammy, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't 10,J statistically the winningest poker hand? I would have called that as well.

Bookmark, as I have a particular fondness for J,10 and would be pleased to hear how good it actually is!
