I play in the 1.25 buy in matrix o8 games on Full tilt and am very good at them and am just wondering how much I should expect the skill level to bump up at 2.25 buy ins and the buy ins there after.

From the $1.25 to the $2.25 games you'll see no discernible difference in skill level at all. Which one of those you play will be driven by your comfort level at each of those stakes and what your bankroll is/can sustain.

i agree with jack even up to the $20 games you'll still find a lot of bad players what's important is how comfortable you are at the amount you're risking

when planning to move up I usually have a 5-10 game "testing period" where if i don't do well i just move back down

The higher tables just mean more disposable income/ more of a gambling problem, not better poker players. Don Trump might suck at poker, but he's not gonna be seen at .05/.10 tables anytime soon.

Step 1: get out of the 1.25 tournaments - 25% rake is almost unbeatable in the matrix tournaments and almost certainly not worth your time.

Step 2: listen to jack

At first, i though the rake would be unbeatable, but i have managed to more than outpace the rake easily.
