If you have never heard of the "Ferguson" Check It Out!.. This is the easist way to manage a bankroll. The hardest part is actually making that first couple of dollars. I would say this takes about 3days to 2weeks to finally break a freeroll and come away with 5-25$ From there you have to really appreciate the money you have won and not think of it as face value, but the hard earned stakes that you have won for free. Play in $1 tournaments and try to break one for $20-$30 and maybe on some occations all the way up to $200-300. Work the Ferguson, in the meantime still playing freerolls and appreciating the hard earned money that you have now EARNED. Have fun and the best is yet to come from there.

On Ferguson's graph from 0-10k$ half of the time was spent earinin 0-$1 and $1-100, Keep that in mind.. MB

i have done pretty well in freerolls on some sites and even won a couple but as far as building a bankroll off of them you have to be very very careful
more than likely just sit out or just watch the first 15 minutes cause so many hands will be played
but as far as building a bankroll when i win a little i usually lose it a day or 2 later

First thing to do is not worry about how long it will take to build a br from a freeroll. That'll do nothing but lead you to working outside of good BR managment. There's a great article here under the strategy articles tabs and a lot of good threads too on this topic. Chris Fergeson's article is excelent, imo.

Best of luck to ya'

could take up to several months to get a few dollars. You will find yourself getting eliminated a lot of the time by a donk call and suckouts. But play tight when you have a decent amount of chips. I like playing agressive near the bubble because no one else usually does except the chip leader. but just know it could take months

I won 5 dollars off a freeroll. That was the first time i ever won money. I then played a lot of heads up games, MTT, and SNG. This was last wednesday. i have 50 dollars in my account now. :)

I've cashed in several freerolls but have never manage to get the winnings over $30. I keep trying though.

I think the biggest mistake players make after cashing in a freeroll, is getting an excited rush from winning. They then immediately enter another tournament and more than likely destroy the good work they've just done. Patience is key, don't automatically use your winnings when you have such a small bankroll. Consider trying to win more from freerolls so you actually have a workable bankroll.

I would have to agree with beeze. I have been there and done that. Here in the great white north depositing has been made difficult. So when I started I thought the FR was the best way to get in position to start my BR. Played a few and then finally in the cash. WoooHooo! Got a little crazy and back to the start line again. I would stick to hitting a couple of cashes and then trying something else with patients, patients and more patients.

From the time I first cashed in a freeroll (for less than $2) I think it took me about four or five months to break the $100 mark

If you want to play real poker why not depositing 50-100$ and just play.

When every cent is free money you feel cooler! Besides most people who work it this way become better players and tend not to donk it off.
