4thplace.tif

Above are my stats over 96 SnG tournaments (actually 24 matrixes, but it's the same in the end).

I've very pleased with my ITM% of 48.96%, which is crazy high and I don't actually feel that it's far above my potential.

The thing that does worry me is the amount of times that I bubble, highlighted in yellow on the above pic. Almost 1/3 of the time that I don't make the money it's because I am going out in 4th place.

So to any experienced SnG players: Is this normal? Should I be finishing in 4th as much as as I do?

I bubble alot but I would rather come 4th than last, it means I am on the right track and getting close to the money.

I have a roi of 8% over nearly 2500 sngs, although alot off them I was clueless about poker, just saying expect your roi to drop.

I think yr numbers are great so far, and bubbling so much indicates you are mostly playing well to get there. Myself I found I had to learn some extra patience on the bubble; not take risks and let the others do the work KOing each other. So if you haven't yet learned how to sit on your hands in these situations, try it...

I would not beat myself up with the bubble percentage. You are making a profit and making it deep in tourneys. I know the object of the game is money, but getting deep is important also. You have to adjust your play for the bubble. Fold if you have to. Try not to be short stacked at that point and time and just fold until you have a premium hand and good position. X

Excuse me? If you mean finishing in 8th and 9th place, I am finishing in 9th less than 5% and 8th about 7% of the time, combined that is about half as much as I would finish in 8th or 9th if it were random.

The only 4 places that I finish in more than average are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
