I deposited $20 the other day, ran it up to $40 and am now at $32. After doing some research I realized that I am not even correctly rolled for the lowest Buy in cash games. Should I try to beat the odds or deposit $125 more so I can at least be rolled for 1/2-3/4 the max buying for the .02/.04 tables?

Lowest buy in at FT is the .01/.02 tables (for NLHE) with a buy in max of $2. So, you are basically rolled for that if you choose.

On the other hand, playing on what you have there and depositing more if you happen to run out is really no different from depositing more right away as long as there is no where left to drop down to in stakes.

The $40 he was up to is rolled for that, but either way, my statement stands that the difference between reserving the money to be able to deposit and only depositing if you lose your bankroll if there is no lower limit to go to is no different than depositing to make sure you are rolled for the lowest level. If he were to deposit more to be rolled to play a higher level, that is another situation.

not really though.....to follow proper BRM you should have anywhere from 20 -30 buy ins

if he had 40...he was hardly rolled for it...thats why most suggest 25 - 30 buy ins.

like he stated in his OP...he is down to $32...not rolled

I don't agree with that you have to have 20 or 30 buyin to be able to play the lowest limits.I have turned 40 into 140.Just take that 40 and buy in to cash games with 5% of your roll.Only buy in to tourney or sit and gos with 1% or 2% of roll. Therefore if you have 40 dollars 5% would would be 2.00 which means he can buy into that game 1% would be .40c and 2% would be .80c which means you buy into the .10c rebuy tourney which is stupid because you only got one bullet or the .30C daily dollar tourney satty. It totally doable just follow fergeson rules.

If you are willing to redeposit then BRM doesn't matter. Just play, and if you go broke then deposit. It's all the same if you think about it.

I'm playing on Sportsbook where the lowest is .02/.04

That is true JD. But the ultimate goal is to build this up, I have the casino if I'm just in for a quick fun.

I ended up depositing, current BR is $162.

Ok, that's one way to do it. Definitely nothing wrong with it. I'm just saying that if you have a small amount of money then BRM doesn't really apply.

Yes it does, though it only really means you are only allowed to play the lowest limits, everything else can only apply once you are properly rolled for multiple limits.

you realize that if you have $125 more to deposit and $32 in your account, you have a bankroll of $125 + $32 = $157, even if not all of that money is in your account?

You miss my point. You can only apply BRM to your current roll if you are NOT willing to redeposit if you go broke.

This is what I mean.

bankroll

Yes you should. Then you will be correctly bankrolled and wont have to worry about one bad outing at the table. You can also play cheap sitngos to build your bankroll. I have taken all my money to the table a few times and eventually you get some bad beat or donked on and bam your broke and have to redeposit. So yes do it

I have some very good advice and deep insight to share but after looking at Zackk19's avatar I completely forgot what this thread was about.

Honestly though I see no reason to add money unless you have to or if you get down to a seriously low amount then go ahead and add. If you don't add then you can just keep playing and may BR yourself to the good.

Whats the worst that can happen if you don't deposit?

^^^ Yes. BRM is playing limits for what you are willing to invest, whether it's on the site or not. If you deposit $140 in one lump sum, or keep depositing $20 until you've reached $140, it's the same thing.

It's also true that if you are a good player you will have fewer downswings at micro limit games, so you probably don't need as many buy ins.
