Cant for the life of figure out why players use MP3 players or whatever when they are playing live. The fact is chatty players will give out a lot of tells
. Watch the way they play their first few hands. Do they continue chatting as they play a hand, or only when they are bluffing.
Does their tone of voice change, do they say damn didnt see the straight possibilities out there on the river, when they hold a flush (I know a player that does this), do they go quiet after losing a big hand (tilting maybe)
You will get VERY accurate tells like this, so what should you be doing during all of this, listening to music ? NOPE YOU my friend should be listening, and gaining another slight edge (remember all the edges count)
Ok now the player that is listening to his/her music player. Usually solid but really not paying 100% attention to the table. If strikes me as if that player is nervous, they are trying to take themselves out of the situation. Fair enough if it calms the nerves go for it.
