I thought it would be interesting to take a look at which players have had staying power since starting fields started to rise(2004-present). This list includes wsop-Europe and Asia.

Top 10
Phil Ivey - 6
Jeff Lisandro - 6
Jason Mercier - 5
Phil Hellmuth - 5
Daniel Alaei - 5
Daniel Negreanu - 4
Jeff Madsen - 4
Robert Mizrachi - 4
Max Pescatori - 4
Tom Schneider - 4
21 players tied with 3

Notables:
Doyle Brunson - 1
Johnny Chan - 1
Eric Seidel - 2
Mike Matusow - 2

Does this change your opinion on anyone? Is Mercier the best Tournament player in the World or is he just on a heater?

Interesting facts:
Phil Ivey has 6 bracelets in 6 different disciplines. His 10 career bracelets have come in 9 formats, none were NLHE.
Jason Mercier's 5 bracelets have also come from 5 different formats.
Mercier and Ivey both have 5 since 2009.
Mizrachi has won a bracelet in three consecutive years. Matt Matros and Michael Mizrachi were the most recent to accomplish this feat from 2010-2012.
Benny Glaser is tied with Mercier for the most bracelets over the last two years (3) and I had no idea who he was before today.

these are not bad stats, and all listed are awesome players, however, since the boom the WSOP keeps adding events every year so there will be more and more bracelets won as we move forward - though I do not think it changes anything, the greats will keep on winning
