Week One...no success.

My goal is to cash in freerolls and SAVE THE MONEY till I reach $50 then use PROPER brm and turn it into a nice profit and play poker the way it should be played. I've always had a hard time saving money, honestly I could dump $50 in Full Tilt and then work on my brm. But the problem is I lose patentice the main then you need in poker. I'll play a couple of micro sngs then go even, be upset someone called me with 10/4o and hits a full house. lol

I feel If I earn it through freerolls can save it till I reach $50 then It won't be hard for me to keep the money around longer and grind. The problem with me and most poker players is we want to hit it big quick. We all want to play in the tourneys where first pays thousands, but we cant efford it. I'm the idiot who had $65 in his br on FT and played the Double Deuce ($22 buy in for those who dont know.) not really smart. I'm working on changing that. So this grind is to work on my SAVING then anything else.

As for my first week...

A few close ITM finishes but close to the money means nothing. So week one sucked. I have zero in my br. To be honest I didn't play that much, I didnt even play in the CardsChat Freeroll because I was pretty busy on Saturday. This week I plan on going hard and hopefully get a few cents in the br.

Thank you to everyone thats been following me. Hopefully It won't take me too long...maybe a couple of years instead of five. lol

Cheers!

I do wish you luck, but in my experience if you've been impatient in the past, this challenge will last...oooh, 2 days, then you'll deposit and be back to normal. lol.
Plus, counting on freeroll winnings isn't a great idea, they are FAR from guaranteed, and a few losses there, especially when you've gone deep in a game, will send you super tilty.
If you've been used to playing real money games then I'd be inclined to suggest you deposit $50 (or less...most sites accept $10+ now, including Full Tilt) and play the low stakes instead.
Keep it as a challenge by all means - and post your progress here to give you incentive to stick to stay in your limits!
I just dont think you'll have the patience to grind freerolls to $50 (it could take a year plus! lol). I know i'd get fed up with it. And Tilt run SnG's from $0.30 (daily dollar), MTT's from $0.10 ($1000 rebuy) and tons of micro's. Its not hard to exercise BRM at any level, plus the players you'll be up against will be (marginally) better than the freeroll 'all-in monkeys'.
Best of luck to you, seriously, I just think this one is a bridge too far.

Brian I'd suggest sticking to private freerolls (like the CC FR ).

The payout for the standard freerolls is just too bad vs time spent playing them.

I'd play the standard freerolls as a MMT training, or special game training like O8, PLO, Stud, Razz, HORSE only.

I know you can do it - don't loose patience too fast.

As long as you follow all the forum freerolls you can get to the 50 $ pretty quickly I think, but if you really want to do it the right way it wouldn't hurt to deposit that 50 to your account and just play it cautiously. Good luck either way.

I'm mixing it up. I'm playing SOME Full Tilt Freerolls, but normally my games are private freerolls. So its a bit of both. It's hard to cash in the FT ones, over 2k people and the top 28 or whatever cash $2. Pretty sick. But I'm doing this to give myself patience, the money isnt the main issue.

Thanks for the support!

I have a friend that played a bunch of freerolls then when he had $1 he played a $1 tourney and won some in it, but also stuck with freerolls and $1 games, made $30 off of doing that, so I'm sure you could do that and get to your $50. Good luck whichever way you go. You can do it! :)

Go for it bro. It just takes time. I think the CC freerolls are your best bet. I personally can't wait to start participating in them, they look like LOADS of fun. Anyway, all the best of luck to you on your quest. Although I think it's best to start using any money u make right off the bat, like said before, saving from freerolls unless private freerolls, it can take up to a year to get that 50 dollars going. But whatever works for you.

I may be jumping ahead a bit, but what is your good bankroll management plan. What types of games will you play first, Ring, SNG or MTT? And what stakes will you play initially?

I'll worry about the BRM when I get the roll. I dont want to get too far ahead.

I'm playing in the CC Freeroll today, hopefully I can reach my goal this afternoon. ;)

GL to all on the felt and I will post another blog next week.

Cheers!
