I have checked the stats on 2 poker gurus who are selling or distributing DVDs and both have huge losses. The author of one DVD set only won 1 out of 20 sit-n-go tournaments. Another player associated with a website that distributes videos has a $5,000 loss according to my stats tracker.

A $5,000 loss? Are you kidding?

Pro players go through $50,000+ swings and don't lose sleep over it.

I looked again it's a $30,000 loss. Not all pro players are millionaires either.. many -- perhaps even most -- only make a living wage.

So? 5k is nothing to most players that play for a living

Hell, about 7k people drop $10k on the wsop ME and hardly any cash it

Yes but my point this is over ALL GAMES tracked. This is the NET LOSS on the games that were tracked. Sure they could be making tons of money on side games. I don't know if this is a definitive record but it's an INDICATION of something.

I'll even tell you the player names:

Gank from ProPokerSchool on all games tracked by TopShark has a NET $30,000 loss over the last 1-2 years in what it track
PokerProf007 -- this is the name used in a poker DVD series -- out of 20 games he played under this name he had 1 win. $208 in losses. And this guy has a DVD series on HOW TO WIN at tournaments? Lol.

Then I thought I'd look up Ferguson and Beyamine. They also are net losers on games tracked. They lost a 25k buy in. Ferguson record is pretty bad on games that were TRACKED. FOR whats its worth

Just because somebody doent do well in sng's does not mean they cant do good in mtt's. Completely different strategy. Also, a lot of the big pro's do not play a lot online, hence the losses

Ye maby these guys are Ring or MTT specialist.
The tracking sites may be good to check up one players but there database is usually not complete and i whouldnt use them to jugde a players ability exsample of that is my OPR and sharkscope shows me as a profitable player but not Ferguson, does that mean im better the Ferguson? NO WAY IN HELL! Just shows if had better sucsess at the games the have tracked(and the fact that these sites dont track ring also seriously limits there judging abilitys).

I have no idea if these guys your talking abot are "good player" or not and i dont see any thing wrong with qustioning there abilitys but judging them from tracking sites is unfair.

A lot of people play in private tournaments also, and those don't get tracked as far as I know.

Where are you getting these stats from? I'd hardly trust 1 or 2 websites for an overall result of a players performance. As previously said, how do you know what their live performance is like? Do they play under other aliases? And also, that 5K drop could be 4 buy ins. Unless you have concrete proof of such a bad performance its not correct to make assumptions that they are bad players and selling something that may not of benefit to others.
