Why do people bet pot when half to 2/3rds size does the same thing.
In later stages more then early, opening for 3 times the BB when the blinds are high looks like a smart move, but in reality you are risking a large percentage of your stack. Doesn't a raise thats greater than the BB do the same thing. Say blinds are 2,500/5,000 with ante of 400. Raising 3 times the BB means you make it 15K so you are risking 15K to win 11,100....not really a good ratio. If you make it say 7,500 to 8,000 well now you are risking 8K to win 11,100 a lot better ratio for you. By over betting the only way you get called is when you are beat, or am I not seeing something right?
